Philadelphia @ NY Rangers 0-2 - The game was a pretty dominant performance by the Rangers, who beat the Flyers to most of the loose pucks and had the territorial advantage throughout on the way to outshooting the visitors 34-31. The Rangers also outhit (22-21) their Metropolitan Division rival, forced nine more turnovers and won 51 percent of the faceoffs. The Rangers have won nine consecutive regular-season home games against the Flyers, dating back to March 6, 2011. Kevin Klein scored in the first period and Rick Nash had a goal in the second to give Talbot all the support he needed. The Flyers pulled goalie Steve Mason (32 saves) for an extra attacker with 3:31 remaining in the third but Talbot shut the door, making his final seven saves. He made an outstanding stop against Brayden Schenn, who had his five-game point streak end, with 1:15 left off a tip at the left post. The Rangers opened a 2-0 lead 7:43 into the second period on a picturesque tic-tac-toe passing sequence by Derek Stepan to St. Louis to Nash during a power play. Nash took a quick shot from low in the left circle that beat Mason on the short side. It was his team-leading 13th goal of the season; he's one behind Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars for the League lead. The Rangers dominated the first half of the first period and took a 1-0 lead at 5:10 when Klein equaled his career-high for goals in a season with his fourth. Carl Hagelin made the play happen when he forced a turnover behind the Flyers net and fed Klein at the right hash for a snap shot that beat Mason on the long side.
Vancouver @ Edmonton 5-4 - Yannick Weber jumped into a rush and converted a pass from Daniel Sedin at 11:32 of the third period to give Vancouver its fourth win against Edmonton this season. Weber's goal stood up as the winner after Oilers left wing David Perron had an apparent tying goal waved off with 10.1 seconds remaining for kicking the puck into the net.
Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller made 28 saves to extend his career winning streak against the Oilers to 11 games. Hansen opened the scoring on a shorthanded breakaway 15:41 into the first period, when sent in alone by Canucks center Shawn Matthias. Vrbata increased the Canucks' lead 2:02 into the second period, three seconds into a power play, stepping into a shot dropped back to him off a faceoff. Pinizzotto cut the lead to 2-1 at 4:43 with his first NHL goal. Pinizzotto intercepted a clearing attempt at the Canucks blue line and snapped a shot past Miller. Higgins restored the Canucks' two-goal lead at 9:39, benefiting from an Oilers turnover and firing a shot past Scrivens. Purcell scored two seconds into a power play at 11:32 on a shot off a faceoff, cutting the lead to 3-2. Gordon tied the game 11 seconds later getting to a turnover in the Canucks zone and beating Miller from a sharp angle. Before the end of the period, Vrbata scored his second of the game at 17:10 on a point shot on the power play to give the Canucks a 4-3 lead. Ference tied the game at 6:21 of the third period on shot from the point that found the net through a maze of bodies in front of Miller. The only point the Oilers have been able to earn against their own conference came in a shootout loss to the Canucks early in the season. It appeared they would earn at least another until Weber scored the game-winner.
