New Jersey @ Buffalo 3-1 - Steve Bernier scored twice in 4:45 in the second period, including a milestone goal, to lead the Devils to a 3-1 victory. Bernier scored for the first time since Feb. 14 when he made it 1-0 at 9:08 of the second period on a 2-on-1 with Scott Gomez against Sabres defenseman Andre Benoit. Gomez sent a pass by a sprawled-out Benoit, and Bernier tapped it past Sabres goalie Anders Lindback. Bernier scored his second of the game with 6:07 left in the second period. He put a rebound of an Adam Henrique shot from the side of the net past Lindback for his 12th goal of the season, the 100th of his career. Jordin Tootoo gave the Devils a 3-0 lead with his ninth goal, his most since he scored 11 with the Nashville Predators in 2007-08. Tootoo broke into the Sabres zone and slid the puck ahead of Buffalo defenseman Mike Weber to get by him and took a wrist shot that beat Lindback low past his left pad. Matt Moulson ended Devils goalie Keith Kinkaid's shutout bid with his 11th goal at 11:41 of the third period. Moulson put a rebound of a Tyler Ennis slap shot past Kinkaid, ending the Devils' shutout streak at 125:35. Sabres forward Johan Larsson thought he scored 7:05 into the first period, but after video review, it was determined he directed the puck into the net with a distinct kicking motion on the rebound of Rasmus Ristolainen's shot. The Sabres recalled forward Mikhail Grigorenko and sent forward Tim Schaller and defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to Rochester of the American Hockey League. Grigorenko played 8:09, the least ice time of any player.
Detroit @ Tampa Bay 1-3 - Alex Killorn scored the game-winning goal at 10:31 of the third period. Killorn scored his 15th goal after a beautiful passing sequence by Jonathan Drouin and Victor Hedman. Drouin started the play with a drop pass in the right circle for Hedman, who then placed a centering pass on Killorn's stick for the shot that beat Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard on the glove side. The Lightning took a 1-0 lead at 1:22 of the second period on Stralman's seventh goal. Howard made a pad save on Hedman's slap shot from the point, but Stralman was in front of the net to bury the rebound. Tatar scored his 26th goal at 6:57 of the second period on a power play. There was a scrum in front of Bishop as the puck squirted under his pad. Tatar battled Lightning forward J.T. Brown in the crease for the puck and punched it in the net. Stamkos scored into an empty net for his 40th goal with 28 seconds remaining in the game.
Colorado @ Anaheim 2-3 OT - In his first game back from a lower-body injury that kept him out for 15 games, Vatanen assisted on Corey Perry's goal 1:25 into overtime to give Anaheim a 3-2 win. Perry beat Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov to the glove side with a wrist shot on a breakaway for his 29th goal after Vatanen poked the puck free from Brad Stuart at the Anaheim blue line.
Vatanen cost the Ducks in the third period when the puck hopped over his stick and resulted in a shorthanded goal by Colorado's Ryan O'Reilly. But Perry erased it with sixth career overtime goal, which tied him with Teemu Selanne and Ryan Getzlaf for the franchise lead. The line of Jiri Sekac, Rickard Rakell and Tomas Fleischmann combined for two goals and an assist for the Ducks.
Rakell tied it 2-2 when he beat Varlamov with a wrist shot from the left circle at 9:04 of the third period. Rakell poked the puck free and pivoted into position for his seventh goal this season. Colorado erased a 1-0 deficit with two goals in 1:51 of the third period by Jarome Iginla and O'Reilly. Iginla one-timed Duchene's saucer pass from the slot past Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen for his team-leading 24th goal at 5:28 after Duchene grabbed the puck at the half-wall off a dump-in. O'Reilly scored his fourth career shorthanded goal at 7:19 when he took a loose puck that hopped over Vatanen's stick at the blue line, raced past him and used a backhand-forehand move to beat Andersen. Sekac scored his first goal as a Duck 3:37 into the game with a turnaround shot that banked off Varlamov.
