Calgary @ NY Islanders 1-2 - Halak was 21 seconds from his fifth shutout of the season, but Josh Jooris scored with Flames goalie Karri Ramo pulled for an extra attacker. Cal Clutterbuck scored an empty-net goal 21 seconds prior to that to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead on a shot that deflected off Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman. New York took a 1-0 lead 11:39 into the first period when Ryan Strome scored a power-play goal. Tavares took a shot from the slot that was stopped by Ramo, but the rebound bounced to Strome, who scored his 14th goal of the season. Clutterbuck appeared to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead at 4:25 of the third period but the goal was waved off because forward Brock Nelson made contact with Ramo in the crease.

Washington @ Carolina 0-3 - Anton Khudobin has a theory about why he was so sharp against the Capitals on Friday at PNC Arena. His father, Valeri, is visiting from Russia. Most of the time, the former semi-pro defenseman gives his son tips that improve his game. But helping his son get a shutout is another matter. Khudobin found that out after a subpar performance during a call-up with the Minnesota Wild in 2010-11. Valeri Khudobin won't have to raise his voice after his son made 28 saves, including a handful of quality stops in the third period, for his first shutout of the season and fourth in his career. Bellemore scored his first of the season at 17:21 of the first period. His wrist shot from above the right circle slipped past Holtby, who didn't appear to see it. Victor Rask and Andrej Nestrasil had the assists on Bellemore's third goal in 105 NHL games. Alex Ovechkin hit the right post from the slot early in the period, and Jason Chimera cut through the slot and hit the outside of the post after pulling Khudobin out of position. But Washington's offense was undermined by a pair of first-period penalties. Jeff Skinner scored his 16th of the season to push the lead to 2-0 midway through the second period when he slipped away from defenders between the circles, took a pass from Nestrasil and beat Holtby low to the far post at 10:15. The goal was Skinner's sixth in eight games. Khudobin took over from there. In the third, he stopped Nicklas Backstrom and Ovechkin in quick succession on rebound attempts, then turned away Brooks Laich's shot through traffic. One of his best stops came with 2:20 remaining and an extra attacker on for the Capitals: Troy Brouwer knocked down Mike Green's shot on the way to the net, but Khudobin smothered the bouncing puck. Gerbe scored into an empty net with 11 seconds remaining for the final margin.

Chicago @ Tampa Bay 0-4 - Brian Boyle scored his 13th goal of the season at 8:27 of the second period. He was camped in front of the net and put a behind-the-back pass from Jonathan Drouin past Blackhawks goalie Scott Darling. Stamkos made it 2-0 at 17:53 of the second period when he redirected a slap shot from the point by Jason Garrison. Stamkos' second, his 34th of the season, came on a power play at 17:15 of the third period when he put a wrist shot over Darling's shoulder for the 4-0 lead. Ryan Callahan scored a power-play goal 7:37 into the third period. During the game it was announced Chicago acquired defenseman Kimmo Timonen in a trade from the Philadelphia Flyers.

Los Angeles @ Anaheim 2-4 - The Kings took a 2-0 lead when their first shot of the second period, 10:39 in, found the net. Brayden McNabb put a wrist shot with Hampus Lindholm defending Kings captain Dustin Brown in the crease, and it went in past Ducks goalie John Gibson. The Kings nearly extended the 2-0 lead but Gibson stopped Jeff Carter on a breakaway and Lindholm poke-checked Justin Williams to break up another good a chance. Trevor Lewis scored the only goal of the first period with an excellent individual effort. Lewis drove through Francois Beauchemin's hip check on the boards, went to the net and put a shot past Gibson with Brown creating traffic at 15:02. It was his eighth goal of the season. The Ducks trailed 2-0 more than four minutes into the third before Kesler and Emerson Etem scored 90 seconds apart to tie the game. Kesler grabbed Jakob Silfverberg's no-look pass and roofed it at 4:37. Etem had Rickard Rakell's pass go off Kings goalie Martin Jones, hit the shaft of his stick and go into the net at 6:07. Perry broke a tie with his 25th goal, a snap shot after Ryan Getzlaf's backhand toss to the slot bounced off Drew Doughty's glove and slid to an open Perry at 11:21. Perry scored an empty-net goal with 23.6 seconds left to cap the win, the Ducks' third in four games against their rivals this season. Andrej Sekera made his Kings debut and was reunited with former Buffalo Sabres partner Robyn Regehr. Jiri Sekac, acquired from the Montreal Canadiens earlier in the week, had his first point with Anaheim on Etem's goal.
