Ottawa @ Winnipeg 3-1 - Turris scored his 16th goal to give Ottawa a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Bobby Ryan's 17th goal and Condra's seventh ended Winnipeg goaltender Michael Hutchinson's night with 8:06 left in the second period. Ottawa scored on its second shot of the game when Cody Ceci's pass reached Turris at the blue line before Turris put a high wrist shot from the left circle past Hutchinson at 4:59. Turris has six goals in his past 10 games. The Ottawa power play pushed the lead to 2-0 when Ryan snuck into the slot and one-timed Karlsson's pass from behind the net 9:07 into the second period. Condra's one-timer from the low slot 2:47 after Ryan's goal made it 3-0. Frolik's 14th goal off a cross-crease pass 5:46 into the third period trimmed Ottawa's lead to 3-1.

NY Rangers @ Detroit 1-2 OT - Newcomer Marek Zidlicky scored 1:09 into overtime to give the Detroit Red Wings a 2-1 win. Zidlicky jammed in a shot that rolled over goalie Cam Talbot's back and into the net with Detroit on a 4-on-3 power play. It was his fifth goal. Zidlicky is the first player to score an overtime winner in his Red Wings debut since the NHL adopted the five-minute extra period in 1983-84, according to Elias Sports Bureau. No player had done it since David Tanabe for the Phoenix Coyotes on Oct. 10, 2003. Talbot made a glove save on Niklas Kronwall's shot from the high slot with 10.4 seconds left in the third. He stopped a deflection off Girardi's stick with 3:43 remaining after Pavel Datsyuk cut in off the right wing and attempted a backhand pass to Tomas Jurco, who was on the 2-on-1 rush with Datsyuk. Howard denied Rick Nash from the right circle on a 2-on-1 rush with 7:50 remaining in the second period. He stopped Mats Zuccarello's tip attempt a little more than five minutes into the second period. Talbot made a nice save on Jurco's shot from the slot 3:10 into the second. Abdelkader opened the scoring 6:12 into the game when he deflected Zetterberg's no-look backhand pass from Talbot's left into an open net. The goal was upheld after video review showed the puck deflected in off of Abdelkader's skate and stick. Girardi's power-play goal tied it 1-1 with 2:58 left in the first period. The defenseman dove to knock in a loose puck in the crease for his third goal. Girardi's goal came with Zidlicky in the penalty box for holding.

Montreal @ Anaheim 1-3 - Gibson was 1:41 away from a shutout against the Eastern Conference's top team. Alex Galchenyuk scored with 1:41 left in the third period to ruin Gibson's shutout bid and end Montreal's goal drought at 120:51. Rakell gave Anaheim a 2-0 lead in the second when he put in a rebound from the slot at 10:16. Former Canadiens forward Jiri Sekac, in his first game against Montreal, started the play with a big hit on Subban in the corner to set up the initial point shot from Hampus Lindholm. Beauchemin scored his eighth goal, tying a career-high, on a pretty finish of a rush at 6:31 of the first period. Kyle Palmieri brought the puck up ice on the left side and sent a pass to Beauchemin, who scored his fourth goal in the past eight games on a shot off the left post. Center Brian Flynn and left wing Torrey Mitchell each made his Montreal debut. Acquired on Monday in separate trades with the Buffalo Sabres, they were on the ice for Anaheim's first two goals.
