Minnesota @ Los Angeles 1-2 - Quick allowed a somewhat fluky third-period goal to thwart his shutout bid, keeping him tied with Vachon at 32 career shutouts. Minnesota right wing Justin Fontaine kept the puck in the Los Angeles zone near the right-wing boards and moved it toward the hash marks. Center Ryan Carter redirected the puck to left wing Matt Cooke, who was alone in front of the net with his back to Quick. Cooke's backhand beat Quick at 6:47 of the third to make it 2-1. Tyler Toffoli got the Kings on the board on the power play at 13:54 of the first period. Kings center Mike Richards skated the puck into the Wild zone down the left wing. His pass went off Wild defenseman Ryan Suter's skate in front of the goal right to Toffoli, who wristed it past goalie Niklas Backstrom glove side for his third goal. Tanner Pearson scored the game-winner for Los Angeles at 2:58 of the third after taking a feed in the slot from Toffoli. Center Jeff Carter won the puck in a scrum behind the Minnesota net and fed Toffoli, who found Pearson alone out front. Yeo switched the power-play lines Sunday, putting Thomas Vanek, Zach Parise and Mikku Koivu on the first unit and Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle and Nino Niederreiter on the second. Vanek missed the final 13:14 of the second period after he took a puck off his right hand on a shot by Suter. He returned to play 8:24 in the third.
Calgary @ Winnipeg 4-1 - Calgary used 12 first-period saves from goaltender Jonas Hiller and five blocked shots from defenseman Lance Bouma to weather Winnipeg's early attack before rolling off three second-period goals in a 6:42 span to break open the game. The Jets, who have three games left on their five-game homestand, have scored two goals during a four-game losing streak. Hartley shuffled his lines after the first period and assembled a line with center Joe Colborne flanked by Raymond and Gaudreau, who was a healthy scratch in a 3-2 loss Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The line combined for six points, including three for Raymond. Mark Scheifele had a goal for the Jets, and goaltender Ondrej Pavelec stopped 25 shots. The Jets attacked the Flames early and held a 10-1 lead in shots at one point in the first period. Scheifele scored his first goal of the season off a cross-slot feed from Blake Wheeler 9:32 into the game. The Flames used Jets defenseman Paul Postma's turnover to tie the game 6:12 into the second period. Matt Stajan delivered a pass to the high slot, where Wideman directed a low wrist shot past Pavelec. Four minutes later, Gaudreau ended Winnipeg's season-opening streak of 18 consecutive successful penalty kills after the Jets were called for too many men on the ice. Gaudreau grabbed a rebound and beat Pavelec with a wrap-around move at 10:12 for a 2-1 Calgary lead. Raymond increased the Calgary lead to 3-1 with his fifth goal on a wrist shot past Pavelec's glove hand at 12:54. Gaudreau, playing in his seventh NHL game, was credited with an assist on the goal, giving him the first multipoint game of his career. Brodie made it 4-1 with a shot under the cross bar past Pavelec 3:18 into the third period. He is on a six-game point streak (three goals, four assists).
St Louis @ Anaheim 0-3 - Frederik Andersen made 28 saves for his first career shutout and Sami Vatanen scored two power-play goals for Anaheim in a 3-0 win against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday at Honda Center. Vatanen recorded his first multi-goal game. He buried a threaded pass from Ryan Getzlaf on the left side at 15:37 of the second period, and his shot from the right point made it through traffic at 17:53 of the first. The Ducks, who were the highest-scoring team in the NHL last season despite having the 22nd-ranked power play, are 6-for-24 this season. St. Louis was without center Paul Stastny, who sustained an upper-body injury from a hit by Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal on Saturday. The Blues also scratched center Jori Lehtera after coach Ken Hitchcock indicated at least one of his players might have the flu. The Blues inserted Magnus Paajarvi, Chris Porter and defenseman Petteri Lindbohm, who made his NHL debut. Anaheim looked re-energized at the start and St. Louis appeared sluggish on the second night of a back-to-back; the Blues had no shots on goal in the opening 12 minutes. The Ducks scored 1:37 into the game when Rickard Rakell's pass up the boards hit a linesman and bounced out to Matt Beleskey, who ripped a slap shot past Blues goalie Brian Elliott for his fourth goal this season. It was the third game in four nights for St. Louis. Hitchcock said they purposely "stretched it out" in the third period Saturday to prepare for this game. But it didn't matter. St. Louis captain David Backes acknowledged how much they missed Stastny. The Blues lost 38 of 61 faceoffs and Anaheim blocked 14 shots, forcing St. Louis to miss 14 shots.

Tampa Bay @ Edmonton 2-3 - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored late in the third period to lead the Oilers to a 3-2 win against the Lightning at Rexall Place. The Oilers center snapped a shot past Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop with 3:25 left in regulation following a turnover in the Tampa Bay zone. Shortly after the Lightning tied the game in the third period, left wing Ondrej Palat had his clearing pass intercepted by Eberle inside the blue line. Eberle found Nugent-Hopkins in the slot, where he fired a wrist shot past Bishop. Hall, on a penalty shot, and Justin Schultz also scored for the Oilers. Brian Boyle and Brett Connolly scored for the Lightning. Boyle opened the scoring at 1:21 of the second period, banking a shot in off Schultz's skate past Scrivens. Schultz was able to get the goal back at 4:35, lifting a backhand over the shoulder of Bishop. The goal was Schultz's first of the season. The Oilers went ahead at 14:57 of the period with Hall's penalty shot. Hall had been sent in on a breakaway on a long pass out of the zone from defenseman Mark Fayne. Hall was unable to get a clean shot on net, hooked from behind by Matt Carle. Hall went in and slipped the puck between the pads of Bishop to score the go-ahead goal. It was Hall's fourth goal of the season. He also had an assist. By converting on the attempt, Hall became the fifth Oilers player to score on a penalty shot at Rexall Place, joining Wayne Gretzky, Craig MacTavish, Doug Weight and Ryan Smyth. Prior to going in on his attempt, Hall lifted his arms in the air in an effort to fire up the crowd. In the third period, Connolly tied the game at 13:55, taking a pass from Tyler Johnson in the slot and firing a shot past Scrivens. Prior to the goal, Bishop made a pad save on Leon Draisaitl from close range to keep the Lightning within one. Nugent-Hopkins restored the lead with his first goal of the season.
