Milwaukee Admirals
The Nashville affiliated Admirals ran into penalty trouble in their season opener against Chicago. Vladislav Kamenev had tied the game with a short-handed goal but four Wolves powerplay goals did the damage in a 5-1 loss. Things didn't get much better in their next game. A 7-2 loss at home against Charlotte. Miikka Salomaki and Taylor Aronson got the Admirals goals but Danny Biega, Jaccob Slavin and Jake Chelios all recorded 3 point hauls in a rampant victory. The Admirals first victory of the season came at Iowa with a 3-2 overtime success. Milwaukee came back from a two goal deficit with Kamenev tying the game with 1:36 remaining in the game. Adam Payeri won the game for the Admirals 2:19 into overtime. The following game saw a 4-2 loss at home to Rockford. Ryan Hartman and Marko Dano both finished with 1+1 for the Ice Hogs.
Texas, Manitoba, Iowa
Milwaukee end the month with a 1-0-3 record. Four of the Admirals seven games were on home ice and they currently sit **** in the standings.
Chicago Wolves
The Wolves, AHL affiliate of the St Louis Blues has had a mixed start to the season. They opened up with a 5-1 win over Milwaukee on home ice. Out-shooting them 37-17. Ty Rattie bagged two of the goals with Magnus Paajarvi also finding the net. Rattie would score in the next game (a 7-3 loss at home to Texas Stars) but Greg Rallo and Devin Shore grabbed a brace of goals each to skate off with the points. The following night the Wolves were among the goals again, this time defeating the Charlotte Checkers 9-5. There were nine different goalscorers and that man Rattie grabbed another one. Trevor Carrick [2+2] had a hand in four of the visitors goals. Next up were local rivals Rockford Ice Hogs. This game went the distance with the Ice Hogs claiming a home victory with a shoot out after the game was tied at 3-3. Jeremy Welsh, Danny Kristo and Pat Cannone grabbed the Wolves goals. Chicago then completed a quick double over the Checkers with a 3-0 win. Magnus Paajarvi fired home twice and Ivan Barbashev grabbed the other. John Anderson's men rounded out the month with ******* against the Manitoba Moose.
Chicago end the month with a 3-1-1 record. Five of the six games were on home ice and they currently sit **** in the standings.
Hartford Wolf Pack
The New York Rangers affiliate Wolf Pack, have got off to a great start to the season. Despite an opening day loss to St. John's (1-3), Hartford have reeled off wins against Providence (4-3 OT), Utica (3-0) and Syracuse (5-2) on home ice. They followed that up with a road win at Syracuse (4-3) where Brian Gibbons got 3 points, before recording a 2-3 overtime loss at Hershey. The following night Hartford gained revenge with a Shoot-out victory against the same opponents. Both games had ended 2-2 in regulation proving the teams were pretty much inseparable. Nick Tarnasky grabbed a double in the latter game.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Providence.
Hartford end the month with a 5-1-1 record. Four of the Wolf Pack's seven games were on home ice and they currently sit **** in the standings.
Lake Erie Monsters
The Cleveland-based side lost their opener 3-6 at Rochester. Markus Hannikainen grabbed one of the goals but Matt Ellis scored a hat-trick for the home side with Jean Dupuy assisting on all three of his goals. The Monsters then hosted back-to-back home games with the Iowa Wild. The first encounter ended in a 4-1 victory. Kerby Rychel got two goals with Andrew Bodnarchuk and Justin Falk getting the others. The following night Iowa won in a shoot-out after a scoreless 60 minutes of action. The Monsters were then back on the road with two games in three days in Winnipeg to take on the Manitoba Moose. The visitors outshot their hosts 36-18 in a 3-1 win. Michael Chaput scored twice and Lukas Sedlak grabbed the other. Two nights later Lake Erie won 2-0 with Chaput again and Ryan Craig scoring.
Next up were a pair of games at home to the Charlotte Checkers.
