Liiga - HIFK - Week 1 Review
HIFK got their season underway last week, but before they stepped onto the ice they announced that, Arttu Luttinen was to be team captain after his team mates voted him in.

The on-ice action couldn't have gone any better with an impressive 6-1 win at Blues Espoo. Juuso Puustinen opened the scoring at 6:37 following good work from Mika Partanen and Corey Elkins. Tomas Zaborsky doubled the lead for the Helsinki-based team with the assists going to Miihkali Teppo and Teemu Ramstedt.
Joonas Rask scored twice, and was clearly benefiting from playing alongside both Tomas Zaborsky and Teemu Ramstedt. In-between his goals Tommi Taimi and Jusso Puustinen combined to set up Arttu Luttinen for the games fourth goal.
Ville Korhonen pulled a goal back for Espoo but 30 seconds later Jasse Ikonen restored the five goal advantage for HIFK.

Juuso Puustinen has got off to a great start this season and bagged another two goals in his sides shootout victory over Lukko Rauma. HIFK had to do it the hard way though, twice coming from behind to force overtime. Janne Lahti gave Lukko the lead with 23 seconds remaining in the opening period, and then lead for much of the second, before Puustinen levelled at 36:09.
Janne Niskala looked to have given Lukko the win when he put his side ahead again but with less then five minutes remaining in the game, Puustinen saved his side. After a goalless extra period the game moved to penalty shots. Amazingly Puustinen missed his penalty along with Joonas Rask, and after Lukko missed both of theirs it was left to Mika Partanen to win the game for HIFK.HIFK v Lukko 3-2
