Sheffield Steelers vs Manchester Storm 5-4 - Pre-Season August 2017


The Sheffield Steelers returned to the Sheffield Arena on Saturday, they raised the Championship Banner, enetertained over 8,000 fans and came away with a 5-4 victory over Ryan Finnerty’s side.
Andreas Valdix led the way for the Steelers scoring twice with further goals from Mathieu Roy, Colton Fretter and new signing Tim Wallace.
Steelers trailed 1-0 early on, a power play strike from Matt Bissonette.
The King of Sheffield, Mathiue Roy quickly responded with his own power play goal at 08.48

Valdix sniped his first just a minute before the end of the first period to put the Steelers 2-1 ahead after 20 minutes.

Matt Beca levelled the score after 26 minutes before the Steelers then took control.
Valdix grabbed his second at 31.51

44 seconds later and Colton Fretter had made it 4-2

Tim Wallace scored his first Steelers goal on the power-play at 49.55 and the result looked done and dusted.
Manchester though had different ideas and hit back with two late goals of their own.
Chris Auger scored both, his first at 50.24 and a final strike at 57.24
Final score: Steelers 5-4 Manchester Storm.
