NHL - Boston Bruins @ San Jose Sharks 2-3 - Tuesday, March 15, 2016

Joonas Donskoi scored the go-ahead power-play goal at 6:37 of the third period, and the San Jose Sharks held on for a 3-2 victory against the Boston Bruins at SAP Center. With Boston's Jimmy Hayes in the penalty box for a hit to the head of San Jose's Justin Braun, Brent Burns zipped a cross-ice pass to Joel Ward, who sent the puck from the left circle toward the net. Donskoi redirected it past Tuukka Rask for his 11th goal of the season.
Sharks goaltender James Reimer, who started his third game since being traded to San Jose from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Feb. 27, made 21 saves on his 28th birthday. The best one came in the final second, when he made a glove save on defenseman Torey Krug's wide-open shot from the left circle.

David Krejci and Loui Eriksson scored in the first period for Boston, and Rask made 24 saves. Melker Karlsson scored in the first period and Burns in the second for San Jose. The Sharks remained five points behind the first-place Los Angeles Kings and moved within one point of the second-place Anaheim Ducks in the Pacific Division. Burns scored his 26th goal, tying Sandis Ozolinsh for the franchise's single-season mark for defensemen, set in the 1993-94 season. He also had an assist on Donskoi's goal, giving him 64 points and tying Ozolinsh's single-season Sharks record for defensemen.
The Bruins fell out of first place in the Atlantic Division; they are one point behind Florida Panthers, who defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 earlier Tuesday. The Sharks struck first, taking a 1-0 lead at 8:44 of the opening period on Karlsson's ninth goal of the season. Donskoi took a pass below the goal line from Logan Couture and fed Karlsson, who was skating hard down the slot. Karlsson took the pass and beat Rask with a wrist shot from close range.
Boston tied the game 1-1 when Krejci scored his 15th goal of the season at 11:26, knocking a rebound past Reimer after the goaltender stopped David Pastrnak's shot from the point.

The Bruins moved ahead 2-1 at 17:46 on Eriksson's shorthanded goal. Eriksson scored his 27th of the season by beating Reimer with a wrist shot on a breakaway after a giveaway by Burns. Krejci got the only assist. Boston had three shots to none for San Jose on the Sharks' first power play.
San Jose made it 2-2 at 11:46 of the second period when Burns sent the puck toward the slot and it deflected off the stick of Bruins center Ryan Spooner and went past Rask. Tomas Hertl and Joe Thornton got the assists. The Sharks outshot Boston 11-7 in the second period, not counting shots by Patrick Marleau and Couture that hit posts. The Sharks activated forward Tommy Wingels from injured reserve and recalled defenseman Dylan DeMelo from the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League. Each was a healthy scratch.
