Pelicans took the lead at 25:17 through Justin Hodgman. But with 63 seconds left in the middle period Karpat tied the game. Lasse Kukkonen with the goal. With no further goals during regulation time, the game headed into overtime and with it looking increasingly likely that a shootout would be required to settle the encounter, Karpat stole the win with just five seconds left.
