Two goals in 15 seconds turned this game around and set Lada on the way to a second successive victory. Neftekhimik had taken a first-period lead thanks to Ivan Lekomtsev but Stanislav Bocharov tied it up on 22:04 and just 15 seconds later Denis Zernov got what proved to be the game-winner. That was a special way for the 20-year-old to mark his KHL debut after two seasons in Lada’s youth set-up. The third period saw Nikita Filatov score a power play goal to put Lada in complete control; Richard Gynge missed a late penalty shot for Neftekhimik.
