Columbus @ Boston 3-1 - Calvert's goal came after Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson shot from the slot. As the puck trickled behind Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask toward the net, Calvert got his stick on it for a 2-1 lead with 3:03 remaining. He scored his second goal into an empty net with 38 seconds left. Calvert wasn't available to the media afterward. The Bruins were without leading goal-scorer Brad Marchand, who served the first of his two-game suspension for being a dirty prick and slew-footing Derick Brassard of the New York Rangers on Thursday. Bruins coach Claude Julien tried Daniel Paille and then Gregory Campbell in Marchand's slot, but couldn't get the line to produce. Boston's defense struggled more than it had over the past few games, and Rask dealt with multiple scrums. The Blue Jackets took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal 7:57 into the first period. Ryan Johansen collected a pass from Jack Johnson just beyond the right faceoff circle, burst forward and zipped a wrist shot past Rask. Johansen's 17th goal of the season extended his point streak to 13 games. The Bruins tied it 1-1 at 11:34 when Chris Kelly scraped his way off the boards and whipped a hard pass directly in front of Curtis McElhinney's crease. Stretching out, Loui Eriksson got enough of the puck to wrong foot the Blue Jackets and set up Soderberg for a wide-open back-post shot.

Philadelphia @ Buffalo 4-3 - R.J. Umberger tipped a slap shot from Matt Read past Michal Neuvirth for his eighth goal of the season 3:51 into the second period. VandeVelde scored a breakaway goal that broke a 2-2 tie when he got a breakout pass from Vincent Lecavalier. VandeVelde deked and the puck slipped off his stick past Neuvirth for his fifth goal of the season 5:54 into the third period. Michael Raffl made it 4-2 at 8:39 when he picked up a loose puck off a deflected shot by Michael Del Zotto and put a wrist shot past Neuvirth for his 12th goal of the season. Zemgus Girgensons scored his second goal of the game and 13th of the season on a power play with 1:09 left in the third to make it 4-3. Girgensons gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead with 1:09 left in the first period when he received a pass from Chris Stewart and took a slap shot that Flyers goalie Rob Zepp didn't react to while the puck went by him. Umberger's power-play goal made it 1-1 3:51 into the second period. The Flyers took a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal 7:49 into the second. Mark Streit received a pass from Giroux and scored his sixth goal of the season with a slap shot from high in the slot that beat Neuvirth. Tyler Ennis made it 2-2 with 54.6 seconds left in the second period. Ennis took a pass from Matt Moulson after a shot from Rasmus Ristolainen went off the post. Zepp scrambled to gather the puck after Ristolainen's shot hit the post, but Moulson got to it first and passed to Ennis for his 10th goal of the season.

NY Islanders @ Montreal 4-6 - Weise scored 10 seconds into the second period, and Galchenyuk scored his first goal in 10 games 52 seconds into the third. Kyle Okposo scored his 14th goal at 10:52 of the second period. John Tavares scored his 20th goal, and Nikolay Kulemin and Anders Lee scored for New York.

Plekanec had his first four-point game since Nov. 13, 2010. He scored the Canadiens' second power-play goal at 14:16 of the second period to give Montreal a 3-1 lead. Plekanec assisted on Subban's power-play goal at 1:56 of the first period and set up Weise's goal that increased Montreal's lead to 2-0.
Plekanec scored his first goal on a one-timer from the right side on a pass from Andrei Markov six seconds after Travis Hamonic was penalized for hooking.
Desharnais made it 5-2 with an unassisted goal at 11:16. Subban scored the first of Montreal's two power-play goals with a one-timer from above the left faceoff dot after Markov faked a shot from the slot and passed. The Canadiens have scored five power-play goals in their past three games. Weise drove to the net to tip Plekanec's centering pass past Halak for his sixth goal.

Carolina @ Ottawa 3-2 - The Hurricanes trailed 2-1 in the third period, but Nathan Gerbe's goal with 5:41 left gave them the win. Gerbe scored from the high slot when his shot through a screen beat Senators goaltender Craig Anderson high to the stick the side. Malone scored the first goal of the game playing on the fourth line with Patrick Dwyer and Jay McClement. Anderson was left to lament the bounces that led to Gerbe's winning goal and one by Justin Faulk that tied it 2:21 into the third period. Faulk's goal came 1:21 after Mark Stone gave the Senators a 2-1 lead. It was Stone's 11th goal of the season and extended his point streak to five games (two goals, four assists). Senators defenseman Cody Ceci scored the only goal of the second period to tie the game 1-1. The Senators moved the puck up the ice quickly and forward Erik Condra hit the Carolina zone with speed. Ceci jumped up through the neutral to join the rush down the right side. Condra's rising shot hit Khudobin in the left shoulder, and the puck went to Ceci in the right-wing circle, where he shot it into the open side of the net at 4:19. The Senators were handed a good opportunity to take the lead when Hurricanes center Eric Staal took a swipe at a chest-high puck near the Ottawa net and struck Jared Cowen in the face for a high-sticking penalty. That advantage was nullified when David Legwand was given a minor penalty for doing the same thing at the other end, striking Tim Gleason. The goalies took over down the stretch in the second period. With the teams playing 4-on-4, Pageau broke in on the right wing and Khudobin stopped his short shot. Anderson made a sharp save on Gerbe, and Khudobin turned back Legwand after he grabbed the puck when he came out of the penalty box.

Nashville @ Detroit 2-5 - The Red Wings' second line had a big game against the Predators. Tomas Tatar had two goals and an assist, Gustav Nyquist a goal and an assist and Riley Sheahan two assists to lead Detroit to a 5-2 win at Joe Louis Arena. The Predators entered the game with the NHL's best record. Starting goalie Carter Hutton was pulled in favor of Marek Mazanec after allowing three goals on four shots. Mazanec made 18 saves. Nyquist opened the scoring 57 seconds in with the fastest goal to open a game this season for Detroit. On a 2-on-1 rush after a quick transition, he tapped in a cross-ice saucer pass from Sheahan. It was Nyquist's 17th goal. Quincey and Tatar scored 1:10 apart. Quincey got his third goal with 8:38 left in the first period when, off a faceoff, when the defenseman's slap shot from the left point caromed off Nashville's Craig Smith and defenseman Victor Bartley and bounced past Hutton. Tatar chased Hutton with a screened wrist shot from the left circle after taking a nice backhand pass out of the left corner from Nyquist. Ekholm got the Predators on the scoreboard with 1:22 remaining in the opening period. His shot from the slot deflected in off the knob of Quincey's stick. It was Ekholm's fifth goal and second in two games. Zetterberg and Tatar scored power-play goals in the second period. Zetterberg made it 4-1 at 2:14 when his attempt from below the goal line bounced in off of Mazanec's helmet. It was Zetterberg's 11th goal of the season. Tatar got his second goal of the game and 20th of the season with 39 seconds left in the second period when he tipped Sheahan's pass out of the air from in front. Tatar has four goals and an assist in his past three games.
It's Tatar's first 20-goal season; he had 19 goals in 73 games in 2013-14. Fisher's power-play goal 49 seconds into the third period made it 5-2 when he put in a rebound for his ninth goal. Fisher has a six-game point streak (four goals and three assists).

Colorado @ Tampa Bay 2-3 SO - After Kucherov scored on the Lightning's first attempt in the shootout, Matt Duchene responded in the second round. Callahan then shot on goalie Semyon Varlamov's glove side and slipped the puck past him off the corner post. Lightning goalie Ben Bishop stopped Alex Tanguay on Colorado's final shot to give Tampa Bay a seventh straight win at home. Nathan MacKinnon tied the game at 2-2 with 6.8 seconds remaining in regulation after the Avalanche pulled Varlamov to bring out an extra skater. Callahan gave the Lightning a 1-0 lead at 1:58 of the first period with a power-play goal coming off assists from Alex Killorn and Stralman. Colorado tied the game 1-1 less than a minute into the second period when Ryan O'Reilly took a pass deep in the slot from MacKinnon and flipped it past Bishop high on the stick side. Anton Stralman gave Tampa Bay a 2-1 lead at 4:08 of the third period when he took a pass from Valtteri Filppula off the boards and casually sent the puck to the net. The low bounce seemed to give Varlamov trouble and the puck slipped beneath his pad.

Edmonton @ Florida 3-2 SO - Nail Yakupov scored the only goal in the shootout, and the Oilers rallied from a 2-1 third-period deficit to defeat the Panthers 3-2 and end their 14-game road losing streak. Yakupov scored on his first career shootout attempt when he beat Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo with a quick deke and shot to the stick side. Viktor Fasth stopped Aleksander Barkov, Nick Bjugstad and Jussi Jokinen in the shootout, clinching the victory when he stopped Jokinen's backhand attempt off a deke in the second half of the third round. Florida led 2-1 going into the third period before Hendricks tied the score with a shorthanded goal. After receiving a slick pass from Boyd Gordon through the legs of Aaron Ekblad, Hendricks skated in alone on Luongo and beat him with a low shot to the stick side. After a scoreless first period, Eberle opened the scoring at 3:35 of the second on a breakaway when the Oilers took advantage of a bad line change by the Panthers. Eberle made a quick move to his forehand and beat Luongo with a shot high to the glove side. Gudbranson scored 2:06 later when his wrist shot from the blue line bounced in off the crossbar. Huberdeau's goal came off a rebound after Barkov's turnaround shot from the right circle went off the post. Barkov has a four-game point streak (two goals, two assists). Taylor Hall came close to tying the game late in the second period on an Oilers power play when his wrist shot from the point through a screen went off the right post.

Phoenix @ Minnesota 1-3 - It's hard to imagine Devan Dubnyk's home debut with the Wild going much better. Dubnyk stopped 25 shots, including all 11 in the third period, and even earned an assist on the game-winning goal, leading Minnesota to a 3-1 victory against his former team. Minnesota dominated the first period, outshooting Phoenix 15-8 and scoring the game's first goal off a quick rush led by Nino Niederreiter, who powered the puck through traffic to Coyle crashing in from the right side. Coyle poked the puck over Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith for his fifth goal at 13:35. Jason Zucker extended the Wild lead in the second period. He gained control of the puck after Dubnyk cleared the zone, then moved it to Justin Fontaine along the wall in the neutral zone. Zucker darted for the net, took a pass back from Fontaine and buried a backhand shot at 8:41 of the second period to give Minnesota a 2-0 lead. The deficit was cut in half a little more than five minutes later when Keith Yandle's shot from the point deflected off the post and right to Antoine Vermette at the top of the crease for an easy tap-in. Zach Parise scored an empty-net goal with 53.3 seconds remaining. Zucker and Parise are tied for the Wild lead with 16 goals. The Coyotes were without captain Shane Doan, who missed his second consecutive game because of a lower-body injury. Wild defenseman Ryan Suter also did not play; he was serving the second of a two-game suspension for being a dirty dog and elbowing Steve Downie of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Anaheim @ Los Angeles 3-2 SO - Silfverberg scored the only goal in a shootout to give Anaheim a 3-2 win. The Sucks tied it 2-2 with 7:13 remaining in regulation with Sami Vatanen's power-play goal. Anaheim outplayed Los Angeles for most of the third period and forced Drew Doughty to take a tripping penalty. The Kings had clung to Kopitar's goal, on a converted a cross-crease saucer pass from Gaborik through traffic, at 18:27 of the second period. It came with 19 seconds remaining on a four-minute high-sticking penalty by Silfverberg in which the Sucks held the Kings without a shot in the first three minutes. Getzlaf tied it 1-1 with his 14th goal at 14:19 of the second. Getzlaf won a faceoff and went to the net to chip in a rebound off Corey Perry's initial shot. The Kings have had trouble protecting the front of the net lately and could not get a body on Getzlaf and Patrick Maroon. The game took on the usual tug-of-war effect that was the epitome of the 2014 Western Conference Second Round won by the Kings last May. The physicality (a combined 75 hits) prompted Getzlaf to admit his team are a bunch of goons "some guys didn't even know there was a puck out there at the start of the game." Kings defenseman Alec Martinez opened the scoring with a point shot that deflected off Sucks right wing Kyle Palmieri at 8:54 of the second. Kings center Nick Shore made his NHL debut after he was recalled from the American Hockey League. He centered a line with Dwight King and Carter.
