Los Angeles @ Vancouver 3-2 - Justin Williams tied the game on a power play on the Kings 39th shot with 2:07 remaining and Jarret Stoll gave Los Angeles its first lead on the next shot 53 seconds later. Dwight King started the comeback late in the second period and the Kings salvaged a three game Western Canadian trip by ending a five-game road losing streak. Los Angeles is 5-8-6 on the road, and Stoll hopes the comeback win can spark a turnaround in their play away from home. Miller made a handful of great stops to keep the Canucks in the game before Williams power play wrist shot from just below the left faceoff dot beat him over the left shoulder on the short side. Williams' goal came on the Kings fourth power play and after failing to record a shot on the previous two opportunities against a Canucks penalty kill that had stopped 37 of the previous 39 chances. Stoll put the Kings ahead with 1:14 left, taking a cross-ice pass from forward Tanner Pearson and slapping a bouncing puck past Miller's blocker to continue the Kings mastery of the Canucks. Los Angeles has won both meetings this season and six of the past seven. The teams traded chances in the opening minutes, with Quick getting his right pad on two early shots in tight and Pearson hitting the post behind Miller from the slot. Miller, who was pulled after allowing four goals on 22 shots in the first game against the Kings in November, got his glove on a chance from the slot by Anze Kopitar 7:30 into the game. Miller extended his right pad to stuff Los Angeles forward Tyler Toffoli alone in front of the net after a giveaway by Daniel Sedin and stopped King on a 2-on-1. The Kings had a 12-3 shot advantage, but the Canucks opened the scoring at 12:18 with captain Dustin Brown in the penalty box for tripping Jannik Hansen deep in the Vancouver end. Vrbata shot the puck at the net from the top of the left faceoff circle and it bounced off Daniel Sedin’s skate, off Quick’s right pad and right to Burrows, who banged it between Quick's legs. Los Angeles had a chance to tie the game on the power play early in the second period, but didn't manage a shot against the Canucks third-ranked penalty killing and Vrbata scored 11 seconds later. Forward Chris Higgins' centering pass to Henrik Sedin off the rush bounced off the skate of defenseman Alex Martinez and right to Vrbata in the slot for a quick far-side shot over Quick's blocker. Vrbata's goal was Vancouver's only shot of the second period before the Kings, who hit the post on a power play seven minutes into the period, solved Miller with 5:21 left in it. A short pass from Mike Richards left King alone cutting through the top of the crease. Miller reached out to stop his initial attempt with the paddle of his stick, but the rebound bounced back to King, who had time to lift it over the sprawled goalie.

Florida @ Buffalo 2-0 - Luongo's toughest save Friday came 9:54 into the second period when he stopped a backhand shot from Tyler Ennis with his leg while seated on the ice. Brad Boyes gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead at 3:29 of the first period. Boyes put a rebound of an Aleksander Barkov shot past Sabres goalie Michal Neuvirth. Sean Bergenheim started the play that led to Boyes' seventh goal when he stole the puck from Sabres defenseman Tyson Strachan behind the net and passed to Barkov out front. Nick Bjugstad made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 11:51 of the first. Mike Weber took a penalty for tripping with 8:29 left in the period, and Bjugstad put a rebound of a Jimmy Hayes shot past Neuvirth 20 seconds later for his 14th goal.
Montreal @ New Jersey 4-2 - Bournival scored 6:31 into the second period, his first goal of the season in his seventh game. Nathan Beaulieu stole the puck from Jaromir Jagr, and Sergei Gonchar one-touched a pass to Bournival on left wing. Bournival's pass in the direction of Dale Weise hit the skate of Devils defenseman Jon Merrill and eluded Kinkaid. The goal was Bournival's first since April 5. The fourth-line center has battled upper-body injuries that have cost him time. Pacioretty scored late in the period on the man-advantage, snapping an 0-for-9 power-play slump. Subban kept Alex Galchenyuk's deflected pass in at the blue line and slid a pass to Pacioretty, who beat Kinkaid from the left circle between the pads to give Montreal a 2-0 lead with 51 seconds left. Bournival scored his second of the season, and made it 3-0, at 2:47 of the third period, when he scooped up a rebound of Weise's shot. Price was helped by the post twice, first on Marek Zidlicky's second-period shot, and in the third period on a shot by Adam Larsson. Price also used his mask to stop Tuomo Ruutu's wrist shot in the third period. Ryder, who returned to the lineup after a bout with the mumps, scored at 3:21 of the third period. Cammalleri cut Montreal's advantage to 3-2 with his 12th of the season with 5:49 remaining. Jagr picked up the primary assist, his 1,066th NHL assist and 1,777th point. Devils defenseman Peter Harrold was hit in the face by Beaulieu's follow-through in the first period. He did not return, playing 2:56. Lamoriello confirmed Harrold sustained a head injury and had X-rays that came back negative.
Philadelphia @ Carolina 1-2 - Claude Giroux sustained a lower-leg injury about 4:45 into the third period and did not return. The injury appeared to be serious, but Giroux said after the game he is probable to play Saturday. Giroux and Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk were in the corner of the Hurricanes zone when Faulk's skate made contact with the back of Giroux's left leg. Giroux's leg was bleeding and he was helped off the ice by trainers. He did not put any weight on the leg. The Hurricanes took the lead at 13:41 of the first period when Brad Malone scored on a rush that began with a turnover in the defensive end. Flyers defenseman Mark Streit had the puck stolen from him by forward Zach Boychuk, who passed to Malone, and Malone skated from his blue line the length of the ice. He scored from inside the right circle on a snap shot over Steve Mason's right shoulder. Carolina took a 2-0 lead 41 seconds into the second period. Jordan Staal shot from in tight off the post, and the Flyers couldn't clear the puck. Faulk took a shot from inside the right point that Mason saved, but he couldn't control the rebound, which was put in by Eric Staal. Flyers center Chris VandeVelde made it 2-1 in the third period at 8:45 after wing Vincent Lecavalier did most of the work setting it up. Defenseman Mark Streit sent an outlet pass to Lecavalier, who weaved his way through the Carolina defense and found VandeVelde with a drop pass at the left point. VandeVelde took a snap shot that beat Cam Ward over his glove.
Toronto @ Minnesota 1-3 - Kuemper held them off long enough for the Wild to take a 1-0 lead midway through the second period on Kyle Brodziak's fifth goal. Kuemper's lone blemish came on a blast from the high slot by Toronto defenseman Cody Franson with the Maple Leafs on a two-man advantage early in the third period. But the Wild killed the final 1:40 of Ryan Suter's minor penalty for delay of game, and Jared Spurgeon scored the game-winner, the sixth of his career, three minutes later on a slap shot from the right circle, beating Maple Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier. It was Spurgeon's fourth goal.
The Wild got some insurance less than two minutes later when Mikko Koivu scored a power-play goal from nearly the same spot, one-timing a cross-rink pass from Thomas Vanek for his sixth. Minnesota finished 1-for-3 with the man advantage. Koivu's power-play goal came after a post-whistle roughing call on James van Riemsdyk. Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel was called for unsportsmanlike conduct with 3:48 remaining in the third, hindering Toronto's hopes of a late- game comeback. After being hit in the face with the puck late in the third period, van Riemsdyk left the game, but he returned in the final minutes.
Edmonton @ Colorado 1-2 SO - It was a tough loss for the Oilers, who outshot the Avalanche 12-3 in the third period and tied the game at 4:47 on a power-play goal by Benoit Pouliot, who missed the previous 18 games recovering from a broken foot. Edmonton's best chance in overtime came on a 2-on-1 rush in the opening minute when Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov made a save against Taylor Hall. Varlamov and Scrivens each made 27 saves through the extra period. Scrivens gloved Nathan MacKinnon's shot in the first round of the shootout, but Duchene slid the puck by his right pad in the second round and Alex Tanguay shot over him in the third. Varlamov is 20-13 in his career in shootouts, and the win was his 85th with the Avalanche, moving him past Stephane Fiset for sole possession of fifth place in Quebec Nordiques/ Colorado franchise history. Duchene and Tanguay waited for Scrivens to make the first move before they took their shots. Scrivens and Duchene know each other pretty well, having spent time at a camp last summer in Vail, Colo. The Avalanche took a 1-0 lead at 7:55 of the second period on the goal by Briere.
Duchene came from behind the net and passed through the slot to Briere at the bottom of the right circle for a shot into a half-open net. Pouliot tied the game on the second power play of the period when he knocked his own rebound into the net. Teddy Purcell shot the puck off the post at 10:16 of the third with the Oilers pressing for the go-ahead goal. Edmonton took the first 11 shots before Scrivens was forced to make a save at 12:45.
NY Islanders @ Calgary 2-1 - Johnny Gaudreau, the NHL's reigning rookie of the month, scored for the Flames, whose four-game winning streak ended. With Lance Bouma called for tripping and Matt Stajan for a faceoff violation, New York worked the puck around the perimeter on a 5-on-3 before Ryan Strome fed a cross-crease pass to Tavares, who one-timed it by Calgary goaltender Jonas Hiller 8:00 into the first period. Tavares had an opportunity early in the third period, but his breakaway attempt was denied by Hiller's pad at 3:18. With 7:44 remaining, Tavares dribbled a shot from the slot between Hiller's legs to put the Islanders up 2-0. With 3:25 left, a loose puck squired to Gaudreau in the slot, where he beat Halak over the glove to make it 2-1. But the Flames, who lead the NHL with eight wins trailing after two periods, couldn't put another behind Halak.
