Buffalo @ Florida 3-5 - Pirri scored two power-play goals in the second period after missing nine games with an upper-body injury, and Upshall scored the game-winner with 5:58 left in the third period. Upshall scored 1:08 after the Sabres tied the game 3-3. He beat goalie Michal Neuvirth with a quick shot to the blocker side after taking a feed from Derek MacKenzie. Nick Bjugstad scored for Florida. Jussi Jokinen and Brad Boyes each had three assists, and Brian Campbell, who was playing in his 900th NHL game, had two assists. MacKenzie scored an empty-net goal with 16.2 seconds left. Florida had gone five games without scoring on the power play and had two goals in its past 28 opportunities before Pirri scored twice in a span of 1:23. Jagr, acquired Thursday in a trade with the New Jersey Devils, did not get a point but was on the ice for each of Pirri's goals. He played 17:09, had three shots and was a minus-1. Cody Hodgson had a goal and an assist for Buffalo, and Andrej Meszaros and Torrey Mitchell scored. Despite outshooting Buffalo 21-8, Florida trailed 2-0 before Pirri scored his first goal with two seconds left on a 5-on-3. Pirri scored on a one-timer from the point after Florida won a faceoff in the Buffalo zone. Buffalo scored twice on its first three shots. Pirri's second goal was practically identical, except he shot from the right dot instead of the point. Bjugstad gave Florida the lead when he redirected Jokinen's pass across the front of the net. His goal capped a dominant second period for the Panthers, who outscored the Sabres 3-0 and outshot them 19-4. Hodgson opened the scoring at 2:57 with a one-timer from the left dot before Meszaros beat Luongo with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle that found its way between the Luongo's legs. The Sabres had chances to make it 3-0 before Pirri scored. Marcus Foligno came in alone on Luongo twice in shorthanded situations; the puck rolled off his stick when he had an open net in the first period. Hodgson had a one-timer from the slot in the first period that Luongo turned back.
Detroit @ Nashville 4-3 - Brendan Smith gave Detroit a 1-0 lead at 7:22 of the first period on a wrist shot that went past Rinne. Smith joined the rush and was left uncovered for his fourth goal. Drew Miller gave the Red Wings a 2-0 lead at 2:03 of the second on a wrist shot that deflected off Rinne and into the net. Miller was on a 2-on-1 rush with Tomas Jurco and elected to take the shot for his fourth goal. Matt Cullen scored 30 seconds later to make it 2-1. Cullen went to the net and got the rebound in the crease and shot it past Detroit goaltender Jonas Gustavsson for his sixth goal. Mike Fisher tied the game 2-2 at 6:02 of the second on a shot from the slot. Cody Franson intentionally banked the puck off of boards behind the net, and the puck banked right to Fisher for his 15th goal. Shea Weber gave the Predators a 3-2 lead at 16:08 of the second with a power-play goal. Weber took a pass from Mike Ribeiro and one-timed the puck past Gustavsson for his 15th goal. Alexey Marchenko tied the game 3-3 at 3:56 of the third period on a wrist shot that went over Rinne’s shoulder. Marchenko took the pass from forward Justin Abdelkader and shot the puck from the right faceoff circle for his first NHL goal in his 12th game. Tomas Tatar’s goal at 9:06 of the third period gave the Detroit Red Wings a 4-3 win. Tatar tried to make a pass to Pavel Datsyuk, but the puck deflected off Roman Josi and got past goaltender Pekka Rinne. Detroit caught Nashville on a line change and Tatar scored his 25th goal.
Carolina @ NY Islanders 5-3 - The Hurricanes had the first 10 shots on goal but Grabner gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead 11:47 into the game when he took a pass from Ryan Strome, raced down the left wing past Jordan, and sent a wrist shot from the circle past Ward. It was Grabner's seventh goal of the season. The Hurricanes tied it 1-1 with 2:19 left in the first period on McClement's fifth goal of the season. He battled against Brian Strait for the control of the puck, and it went off McClement's right skate and rolled past Johnson. The goal was ruled good after a brief video review determined there wasn't a distinct kicking motion. Faulk put the Hurricanes in front 2-1 1:26 into the second period with a power-play goal. Twenty-eight seconds after Thomas Hickey was called for interference, Johnson made a pad save on a shot by Eric Staal, but the puck went to Faulk at the right circle, where he quickly put a wrist shot home for his 12th goal of the season. McClement scored his second goal of the game at 9:50 of the second period. With the teams at even strength, McClement took a cross-ice feed from Nestrasil and beat Johnson with a wrist shot from the right circle to give the Hurricanes a 3-1 lead. Kulemin got the Islanders within 3-2 with 4:49 left in the second. Kulemin took a pass from Cal Clutterbuck, worked his way around Faulk and sent a wrist shot past Ward for his 12th goal of the season. Carolina quickly restored the two-goal lead when Malone scored at 17:46. Nestrasil took a cross-ice pass from John-Michael Liles and sent a slap shot from the left circle that trickled through Johnson's five-hole. Malone poked it over the goal line for his sixth goal of the season and Nestrasil's fourth assist in the past two games. Jordan made it 5-2 with 7.8 seconds left in the second on a power-play goal. With Strome in the box for high sticking, Jordan skated in from the blue line and poked home Jeff Skinner's feed from in front of the net for his second goal of the season. The Islanders penalty kill finally came through in the third period when it did not allow a goal after Kael Mouillierat received a double minor for high-sticking Malone at 2:42. Tavares scored his 30th goal of the season with 10:25 remaining. The Islanders captain positioned himself at the right side of the net and quickly put a rebound home after Ward made an initial save on Nick Leddy's slap shot from the point. Hurricanes defenseman Jack Hillen, who was acquired from the Washington Capitals in a trade for Tim Gleason on Saturday morning, arrived at Nassau Coliseum about an hour before the game and was in the lineup for Carolina.
New Jersey @ Columbus 2-0 - Andy Greene took an entry pass from Patrik Elias to the left circle, where he put a rising shot to the upper right corner of the net past McElhinney's glove with 4:13 left in the period. It was Greene's second goal of the season. The Blue Jackets had an opportunity to tie the game with 7:07 left in the third period when Mark Fraser was called for hooking. Columbus got four shots but could not get one past Schneider on the last of its three power plays. Zajac scored into an empty net with 30 seconds left in the third period after Schneider stopped an Alexander Wennberg shot and a rebound attempt by Nick Foligno. David Clarkson made his Columbus debut after being traded to the Blue Jackets by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday for forward Nathan Horton. He nearly scored midway through the first period with a redirect of a Scott Hartnell pass during a power play but the puck skimmed outside the right post. Clarkson played 16:13, had two shots, four hits and was called for boarding Dainius Zubrus in the third period.
Phoenix @ Boston 1-4 - The Bruins took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Milan Lucic after Mike Smith missed a David Pastrnak dump-in. The bouncing puck went behind the net, where Lucic grabbed it and then banked it off the back of the goalie's pad into the net at 2:40. Marchand gave Boston a 2-0 lead with a shot from the left dot that beat Mike Smith inside the far post at 14:13. Marchand started the breakout with a pass out of the Boston zone to Patrice Bergeron, and then Reilly Smith set up Marchand's shot. The line of Marchand, Bergeron and Reilly Smith was on the ice for the Bruins' third goal. Bergeron's backhand to the front of the net went past Reilly Smith and deflected off Keith Yandle's skate before beating Smith at 3:02 of the second period. Chara's power-play goal put the Bruins ahead 4-0 at 11:50 and sent Mike Smith to the bench in favor of Domingue. Phoenix scored with 9:39 left, when Erat tipped a Shane Doan pass by Rask.
Toronto @ Montreal 0-4 - Andrei Markov and P.K Subban assisted on Plekanec's goal, which put Montreal up 2-0 at 12:57 of the first period during a delayed penalty against Toronto. Desharnais increased the Canadiens' lead to 3-0 with his 10th goal at 1:02 of the third period. It was his 200th NHL point; he got his 201st when he scored into an empty net with 2:33 left. Linemates Max Pacioretty and Gallagher each assisted on Desharnais' goals. Malhotra, who had two assists in his first 52 games with Montreal, scored 5:00 into the first period. Canadiens right wing Dale Weise set up the goal with a pass back to the 34-year-old center, who shot past Bernier.
NY Rangers @ Philadelphia 2-4 - With the Flyers killing a penalty early in the third period, Del Zotto jumped into the offensive zone, took a cross-ice feed from Sean Couturier in the left circle and fired a shot that beat Rangers goalie Cam Talbot past his glove and inside the far post. After the early miscue by Mason, Read gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead midway through the first, blocking a Dan Boyle shot at one end and then batting in the rebound of a Couturier shot for his sixth goal. But 24 seconds later Miller tied the game when he scored on his rebound after a Luke Schenn turnover deep in the Philadelphia end. Moore's first goal in nearly 11 months, on a shot from the point that caromed in off the right skate of Flyers defenseman Braydon Coburn, gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead at 11:55 of the second. The Flyers tied the game when Raffl redirected Coburn's wrist shot from the point past Talbot at 14:37 of the second. Though Del Zotto said he does take extra pleasure from defeating the Rangers, getting another win in the Flyers' playoff chase was the most important thing to him.
Minnesota @ Colorado 3-1 - Haula scored in the first period at 10:49. Fontaine passed to him along the goal line to the left of Varlamov, and Haula shot the puck through a small opening inside the near post. The Avalanche, who were shut out by the Wild in the first three games this season, got a second-period goal from Maxime Talbot to end a 201:32 drought against Minnesota.

Fontaine put the Wild ahead 2-1 at 9:09 of the second period during a poor Avalanche line change that came 11 seconds after the Wild were held without a shot on goal during a power play. Jonas Brodin hit Haula with a pass from the Minnesota end, and Haula skated down the left wing into the Colorado zone. He passed across to Fontaine moving down the opposite end for a point-blank shot past Varlamov. Talbot was credited with the tying goal when a shot came off the boards. Dubnyk had the puck next to his right skate and dragged it across the goal line. The goal was confirmed by video replay. Jason Pominville put the Wild in front 3-1 at 5:50 of the third period. Mikael Granlund fed Pominville skating down the right wing on a 2-on-1 rush, and Pominville shot the puck between Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov's pads for his first point in eight games. Varlamov headed to the bench for a sixth attacker with 4:04 remaining, and the Avalanche went a 6-on-4 power play with 3:17 to play when the Wild's Nate Prosser was penalized for high sticking.
