NHL - Washington Capitals @ Winnipeg Jets 3-2 - Tuesday, November 01, 2016

Jay Beagle scored with 30 seconds left to help the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 win against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre. Karl Alzner and Marcus Johansson had goals and Braden Holtby made 43 saves for the Capitals (6-2-1), who won the last three games of a four-game road trip.
Mark Scheifele and Adam Lowry scored in the third period for Winnipeg (4-6-0). Connor Hellebuyck allowed three goals on 27 shots. Scheifele scored at 13:04 of the third after Jets forward Blake Wheeler powered his way past Capitals defenseman Nate Schmidt in the right circle and fed Scheifele, who quickly shot it past Holtby to make it 2-1.
Johansson made it 2-0 at 8:15 of the second period. He generated a turnover in the neutral zone and found Kuznetsov, who carried the puck down low behind the Jets net. Johansson worked his way out front, where Kuznetsov put the puck on his stick.
* Enstrom denied Capitals forward Zachary Sanford of his first NHL goal at 16:55 of the second period. Sanford tried a wraparound attempt, but Enstrom slid across the ice to stop disrupt the scoring chance.
* Johansson has five goals and two assists in his past three games. … Jets forward Shawn Matthias was taken down awkwardly by Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov in the first period and did not return. Maurice didn't have an update on Matthias' status after the game. … The Jets were 0-for-4 on the power play and are 5-for-44 this season.

Jets Quotes
Paul Maurice: "We've moved a lot of people around into a lot of different roles on that power play. We will continue to do that until we get some guys trying some new things and new positions. But it's a little bit like our entire offensive game; there's a few more things we can get better on."
Mark Scheifele: "We played good throughout the whole game. Putting up over 45 shots or whatever we had against a team like that is big for us. It's definitely tough to lose a game when you come back like that."
