Vancouver @ Chicago 5-4 OT - With their fathers in attendance, the Canucks coughed up leads of 3-1 and 4-2 in the third but bounced back by ending the game at 1:20 of overtime on a wrist shot by Daniel Sedin. It was his second goal of the game. The Canucks appeared to be in complete control in the third until the Blackhawks heated up, led by right wing Marian Hossa. He scored the first of two goals at 12:48 to cap a power play, which cut the deficit to 3-2 and re-energized the crowd. Hossa scored again at 19:05 after Sedin and Duncan Keith traded goals to tie it 4-4 with his sixth goal in the past three games and 16th of the season. It was the third straight two-goal game for Hossa. Chicago got one goal and two assists from right wing Patrick Kane, who took over the NHL scoring lead with 62 points. The second period featured four goals. Kane scored 57 seconds into it for his 27th, but Vancouver scored the next three in 6:37 to take a 3-1 lead. Two of those goals were aided by poor play in the defensive zone by the Blackhawks, who struggled to clear the puck in the first two periods. Vey's goal, his first since Jan. 16, tied it 1-1 at 4:42 after a Blackhawks turnover led to a tic-tac-toe play that started with passes by forwards Radim Vrbata and Higgins. Horvat made it 2-1 at 6:44 with his sixth goal, which he scored by beating David Rundblad to a rebound of a shot by Ronalds Kenins. Kassian, who has scored in three straight games, made it 3-1 at 11:19. He boxed out Brent Seabrook in front of the net and redirected Sbisa's shot from the right point past goalie Corey Crawford (31 saves). Hossa started the Blackhawks' comeback in the third. He scored his first off a Jonathan Toews shot that deflected off Lack's shoulder and bounced right to his stick. His second was the result of a speed burst up the left wing off a rush with Crawford on the bench for a 6-on-5 advantage with time running out.

Toronto @ NY Islanders 2-3 - A little more than a minute into the first period, Maple Leafs defenseman Cody Franson made an errant pass that Lee stole in the Toronto zone. His shot hit goalie Jonathan Bernier's right pad but trickled past the goal line at 1:11. Casey Cizikas gave the Islanders a 2-0 lead at 4:03 on a wrist shot off a rebound after Colin McDonald's shot was stopped by Bernier. Richard Panik scored his ninth on a rebound at 1:32 to make it 2-1. Trevor Smith tied the game 2-2 at 4:09. After exiting the penalty box, he skated up ice and knocked a cross-ice pass from Panik out of midair past Halak for his second of the season in his 38th game. Lee gave the Islanders a 3-2 lead at 12:02 of the second period. Travis Hamonic's shot from the right point was stopped by Bernier, but the rebound came to Lee to the left of the net, and his shot trickled under Bernier's pads.

Anaheim @ Carolina 2-1 - The Hurricanes scored at 9:40 of the second with Jeff Skinner's 11th goal, on the power play. Gibson caught a piece of Skinner's shot from the right circle, but it deflected off the goaltender's shoulder and fell behind him. Skinner curled to the right post and tapped in the puck. Three minutes later, a fight between Sucks goon Tim Jackman and Hurricanes defenseman Tim Gleason seemed to jump start Anaheim. Less than two minutes later, the Ducks scored. Perry's strong drive to the net was turned away by Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward, but when the puck popped loose near the right post, Beleskey's backhand went off Francois Beauchemin's stick for the goal. Beleskey gave the Ducks a 2-1 lead at 17:30 of the second. Kyle Palmieri centered a pass from behind the net, but Victor Rask struggled to clear the puck. Beleskey used a quick stick to poke in the puck. The Hurricanes had a two-game winning streak end. After a fast start, Carolina lost its offensive momentum once Anaheim connected for two goals.

Edmonton @ Montreal 4-3 OT - Christian Thomas gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead at 16:25 of the first period. The son of longtime NHL forward Steve Thomas snapped a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle off the top of Fasth's left shoulder and into the top right corner for his first point in 15 games in the League and 12th this season. Galchenyuk made it 2-0 at 1:06 of the second period when he scored on a one-timer off a pass from Subban. Edmonton scored twice in the second to tie the game for the first time. Hendricks tipped Jeff Petry's shot from the right point past Tokarski for his seventh goal at 4:04 of the second to make it 2-1. Nugent-Hopkins tied the game 2-2 with his 13th goal at 14:09. It was his first goal in nine games, and second in 19. Tokarski stuck out his right pad to make a spectacular save on Luke Gazdic's shot off a rebound at 7:04 after he stopped Iiro Pakarinen's initial shot. Edmonton left wing Ryan Hamilton hit the right post at 12:03 after receiving Nail Yakupov's pass on a 2-on-1. Max Pacioretty scored his team-leading 25th goal to give the Canadiens a 3-2 lead at 9:17 of the third after the Oilers tied it 2-2 in the second period on goals by Matt Hendricks and Nugent-Hopkins. Oilers goalie Viktor Fasth was pulled for an extra attacker when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his second goal of the game with 24.9 seconds remaining in the third to tie the game 3-3. Lander scored his third goal on a pass from Klefbom for the winner. Klefbom blocked Plekanec's shot with 1:08 left in the third, seven seconds after Plekanec came out of the penalty box.

Winnipeg @ Nashville 1-3 - Weber gave Nashville a 1-0 lead at 4:47 of the first period on a one-timer from the point that went past Winnipeg goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. Weber one-timed the pass from Roman Josi and scored on the power play for his 13th goal. Michael Frolik tied the game 1-1 at 11:42 of the first on a redirection on the power play. Dustin Byfuglien took a slap shot from the point that Frolik was able to redirect past Rinne for his 11th goal. Rookie forward Filip Forsberg gave Nashville a 2-1 lead at 3:38 of the second period. Forsberg took a snapshot from the faceoff circle that got past Pavelec. Forsberg’s goal was his 19th, and it broke Nashville’s record for goals in a season by a rookie (Alexander Radulov had 18 in 2006-07). Neal gave Nashville a 3-1 lead at 16:10 of the third period after another power play opportunity expired. Neal’s goal was his 19th. Weber’s assist on the goal was his third point of the game. Winnipeg had 1:31 of a two-man advantage in the third but was unable to convert. Josi and Seth Jones were out there for the entire kill of the two-man advantage. Tyler Myers and Drew Stafford made their debuts for the Jets after being traded from the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. Myers got hit with a shot from Weber and left the game in the third.

Florida @ Minnesota 1-2 - The Panthers trailed by a goal early in the third period and had a chance to tie the score after Ryan Suter was assessed a high-sticking double minor at 3:54. The Wild killed most of the first minor before drawing a penalty of their own. With Florida goaltender Roberto Luongo off for an extra attacker, Nino Niederreiter was called for tripping with 1:19 to play. Florida skated 6-on-4 for the remainder of the game but was limited to two perimeter shots against Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk. Even the goal that beat him took a perfect shot; Bjugstad found just enough space between Dubnyk's shoulder and the crossbar with a snap shot for his team-leading 19th goal at 9:53. The Wild opened the scoring 4:12 into the game on a goal by Jason Pominville. The Wild cruised into the zone with Mikko Koivu controlling the puck along the left wall. His centering pass hit a crashing Pominville's skate and went past Luongo. The play was ruled a goal on the ice, and the call was upheld after a short review. The Wild made it 2-0 at 6:52 of the second period when Zach Parise jammed home a loose puck in the crease following a shot by Thomas Vanek for a power-play goal. Koivu assisted on each goal for his 113th career multiple-point game, one shy of Marian Gaborik's franchise record.

NY Rangers @ Colorado 6-3 - Down 3-1 heading to the third period, the Avalanche tied the game on goals by Jarome Iginla at 6:43 and Jan Hejda at 10:44. Iginla knocked in the rebound of Maxime Talbot's shot for his team-leading 17th goal and 577th of his NHL career, tying him with Mark Recchi for 19th place on the all-time list. But the Rangers responded with goals from Hagelin, who cashed in Hayes' pass at 12:02, and Nash, whose wraparound bounced into the net off Avalanche defenseman Nick Holden's stick at 15:42. Nash leads the NHL with 34 goals. McDonagh scored a power-play goal into an empty net with 1:01 remaining. The Avalanche took the first 13 shots of the third period before Hagelin scored to give the Rangers the lead for good. Hayes and Mats Zuccarello scored second-period goals for the Rangers, giving them a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes. Hayes, who set up Dan Boyle's first-period goal, wasn't touched as he skated from his own end into the Avalanche zone. He cut inside Tyson Barrie, moved through the slot and swept the puck past goalie Semyon Varlamov at 1:47. The Avalanche closed to 2-1 at 12:46 on a goal by Gabriel Landeskog. Colorado applied plenty of pressure in the Rangers' end and it paid off when Nathan MacKinnon took a shot that hit Landeskog in the chest as he was skating to the net. The puck bounced into the net over Talbot's left pad. The Avalanche had a chance to tie the game less than a minute later during a two-man advantage that lasted 1:53 with Rangers J.T. Miller (hooking) and Dan Girardi (tripping) in the penalty box. They were held to one shot, finished the night 0-for-4 on the power play and are 0-for-31 in their past 10 games. Zuccarello then gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead at 16:02. Nash was above the right circle when he passed to Zuccarello in the left circle. The Rangers grabbed a 1-0 lead at 16:30 of the first period on Boyle's goal. Taking advantage of a poor line change by the Avalanche, McDonagh passed to Hayes, who slipped the puck to Boyle with Hejda the lone defender back. Boyle skated in on a breakaway and shot the puck past Varlamov's right leg.

Calgary @ Los Angeles 3-5 - Toffoli completed his hat trick with a breakaway goal at 8:18 of the third period to end the night for Flames goalie Jonas Hiller, who allowed five goals on 40 shots his 33rd birthday. The line of Toffoli, Carter and King has eight goals and six assists in three games. Carter tied a career-high with three assists and had his 500th career point on Toffoli's second goal. Calgary was outshot 45-18 and showed little resistance outside of a two-goal flurry in the second period. The Flames had beaten the Kings the previous three games this season, including two in overtime at Staples Center. Hiller allowed King to score the go-ahead goal 59 seconds into the third with a snap shot that squeezed under his arm, and he was beaten on a slap shot from above the left circle by Jordan Nolan at 6:44. Los Angeles had Calgary under duress for most of the second period and it paid off when Toffoli scored his second goal of the night with 16 seconds left. Jake Muzzin put the puck on net and Toffoli tapped it in out of midair from the crease to get the Kings even at 2-2. David Jones and Raymond scored twice in 32 seconds early in the second to give the Flames a 2-1 lead. Jones deflected T.J. Brodie's point shot into the net on the power play at 3:09, and Raymond buried Matt Stajan's pass into an open net at 3:41. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick was outraged because of traffic on the play and got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for breaking his goalie stick, but Calgary was unable to convert the ensuing power play. Toffoli highlighted a strong puck-possession first period for the Kings with a toe-drag finish of a 3-on-2 at 3:16. Carter carried the puck up ice and gave it to Toffoli, whose wrist shot went underneath Hiller. Former Kings coach Barry Melrose, who led the franchise to its first Stanley Cup Final in 1993, was honored before the game.
