Florida @ Detroit 2-1 OT
Brian Campbell scored 1:20 into overtime and the Panthers rallied for a 2-1 win.
Campbell scored from the inside edge of the left circle as the trailer on a 3-on-2 rush. It was his second goal of the season. Reilly Smith tied the game 1-1 with 5:22 left in the third period when he redirected defenseman Aaron Ekblad's shot past Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek. It was Smith's sixth goal of the season.
Gustav Nyquist nearly broke the tie when he hit the goal post with 2:28 left in the third period. Larkin gave Detroit a 1-0 lead at 7:02 of the second. He intercepted Aleksander Barkov's pass up the middle about 10 feet inside the Florida blue line, skated in and beat Luongo to the stick side. It was Larkin's 10th goal, which leads NHL rookies. He has six goals and one assist in his past seven games. The Panthers outshot the Red Wings 22-18 in the second and third periods, but Mrazek was solid. He helped kill off a 1:27 5-on-3 Florida power play in the second period, then denied Smith from the left circle and Brandon Pirri on the rebound 4:14 into the third. Smith thought he scored 28 seconds into the game, but the play was ruled no goal because Huberdeau interfered with Mrazek. Gallant challenged the call, but it was upheld.

Carolina @ NY Rangers 3-4
Carolina goalie Cam Ward made 18 saves. His giveaway led to Brassard's goal at 15:49 of the second period, which wound up as the game-winner. Carolina had some odd-man rushes, and Terry got behind Ryan McDonagh for a breakaway goal at 8:23 of the third period to slice the New York lead to 4-3. It came at a time when the Rangers should have been protecting their zone and not letting anyone get behind them. The Rangers won in part because Ward had a tough night. He allowed a goal by Kreider at 2:24 of the second period off a shot from below the right circle near the corner that made it 3-1. Kreider's goal came 44 seconds after Jordan Staal scored his fifth of the season to make it 2-1. New York had a 2-0 lead after the first period on the power-play goals from Zuccarello and Lindberg. Ward was so frustrated after allowing Kreider's goal that he slammed his stick across the right post, breaking it in half. It didn't help that his giveaway led to Brassard's game-winning goal. Ward tried to clear the puck up the left side, but Rangers center Kevin Hayes, coming out of the penalty box at the time, intercepted the puck and gave it to Brassard for a one-timer from the right circle. Ward was out of his crease and had no chance to stop Brassard's shot.
Edmonton @ Toronto 0-3
Garret Sparks, 22, is the 25th goalie and seventh since 2000 to earn a shutout in his first NHL game. Edmonton outshot Toronto 8-3 in the opening period, but the Maple Leafs took a 1-0 lead on Komarov's first of the night at 6:45 with Oilers center Leon Draisaitl in the penalty box for hooking. Komarov converted a nifty three-way passing play from in tight to establish a new NHL career high with his ninth goal. Justin Schultz took a slap shot from the top of the right faceoff circle that beat Sparks but hit the post at 7:08. Then seven minutes later, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins hit the post with a shot from the high slot. The Maple Leafs, who were shorthanded for the first 1:02 of the third period, were unable to add to their lead on either of two 2-on-1 opportunities in the first 1:15 of the period. Toronto did make it 2-0 at 7:33 when Nazem Kadri tipped a Jake Gardiner snap shot from the left point past Anders Nilsson from the high slot for his third goal. Video review confirmed the call on the ice that Kadri's stick was below the crossbar when it contacted the puck. Komarov completed the scoring with an empty-net goal with 1:01 remaining.
Vancouver @ Anaheim 0-4
Horcoff scored 1:19 into the game on a shot from the right circle. Anaheim went up 2-0 at 19:57 in the first period on Rakell's power-play goal. Canucks goalie Ryan Miller was forced out the net on a scramble and Rakell scored off a rebound from a shot by Ryan Getzlaf. Turnovers in the neutral zone doomed the Canucks in the third period. Silfverberg capitalized on one exactly a minute into the third period and Perry scored on a breakaway at 8:39 after Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis turned the puck over in the neutral zone. Perry's goal gave Anaheim a 4-0 lead.
