Los Angeles @ Toronto 0-5
The Kings outshot the Maple Leafs 10-7 in the first period, but Toronto skated off with a 1-0 lead when Komarov tipped home Matt Hunwick's shot from the left point at 5:31. Komarov has goals in back-to-back games. Bernier brought the fans to their feet at 4:38 of the second period when he shot out his right pad at the last instant to rob Marian Gaborik from close range. On the return rush, Kings goalie Jhonas Enroth (29 saves) made a spectacular stop on Peter Holland, who broke in alone. Grabner, who was promoted to the second line from the fourth line after scoring his second goal of the season against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, made it two games in a row with a goal at 3:58 when he tipped a point shot by Nazem Kadri past Enroth. He scored again at 13:34, finishing off a 3-on-1 for his fourth of the season to make it 3-0. Komarov grabbed a rebound off the end boards and tapped it past Enroth for his second of the night and 13th of the season at 16:38. Rookie Byron Froese scored his first NHL goal 49 seconds later.
Anaheim @ New Jersey 2-1
Chris Stewart scored at 7:39 when his centering pass from behind the goal line went into the net off of Eric Gelinas. Boudreau initially called it a "fluky" goal, but later said he regretted his word choice because the goal came at the end of a 42-second shift in the offensive zone that started with Stewart missing a shot off the rush from the right circle. A mistake on a breakout by Adam Larsson led to Kesler's fourth goal of the season that gave Anaheim a 2-0 lead with 15.2 seconds remaining in the first period. Instead of finding a teammate with a pass or skating the puck up the ice himself, Larsson attempted a hard rim around the defensive zone boards without any support from a forward. Instead, Corey Perry intercepted the puck at the right-wing half-wall and got it in front to Kesler, who settled the puck on his stick, turned, and used his forehand to beat Kinkaid. New Jersey got a goal off a one-timer from Mike Cammalleri at 15:26 of the third period, but couldn't get the equalizer.
Philadelphia @ Columbus 2-3 SO
Brandon Dubinsky scored the deciding goal and rookie goaltender Joonas Korpisalo stopped Brayden Schenn for his first NHL win. Korpisalo, in his third career start, stopped five of six shootouts attempts and made 30 saves in the game. Cam Atkinson scored in the first round of the shootout for Columbus before Wayne Simmonds beat Korpisalo beat in the third round to extend the shootout. Philadelphia trailed 2-0 in the third but got goals from Scott Laughton and former Blue Jackets forward Jakub Voracek to tie the score 2-2. Laughton drew the Flyers to within 2-1 at 5:32 of the third. He circled in the zone then fired a wrist shot from the right circle for his fourth goal and his first in 17 games. Voracek got his second at 14:19 with a shot from the left that beat Korpisalo glove-side. The Blue Jackets got goals from Brandon Saad, his 12th, in the first period, and a power-play score by Ryan Murray, his third, in the second.
NY Islanders @ Phoenix 0-1
Cycling the puck in the left corner, Anthony Duclair found Ekman-Larsson at the top of the circle with a backhand pass that had the puck on-edge. Ekman-Larsson one-timed the puck past Halak for his seventh goal. It was the 20th career game-winning goal for Ekman-Larsson, who passed Teppo Numminen for the franchise lead among defensemen in that category.
