New Jersey @ Carolina 5-1
Cammalleri started the scoring at 15:17 of the first period. With all three Hurricanes forwards caught up ice, Cammalleri made a cross-ice pass to Tyler Kennedy before taking a return pass and hitting an open net from the left circle.
In the second period, the Devils capitalized on the first penalty of a high-sticking double minor against Jeff Skinner. Adam Henrique caught the Carolina defense flat-footed at the blue line before skating in for a backhand shot over goalie Eddie Lack's glove at 11:03. The goal came with one second remaining on the first minor. Stephen Gionta made it 3-0 with a strong individual effort at 13:10, six seconds after the second Skinner minor expired. Gionta took a wrist shot, then gloved down the rebound before circling the net and wrapping the puck around the far post. Carolina made it 3-1 when Brad Malone scored his second of the season at 17:36. He took a pass in the slot from Jay McClement and shot low to Kinkaid's blocker side. New Jersey answered quickly on Jacob Josefson's first of the season, ending his 27-game goal drought. He held the puck on a 2-on-1 and scored short side from the right circle for a 4-1 lead at 18:57. Cammalleri scored his second of the night and ninth of the season at 12:47 of the third period. Patrik Elias made a long diagonal pass to Cammalleri, who hit an open net from just above the goal line.

Washington @ Montreal 3-2
T.J. Oshie twice gave Washington a one-goal lead, including 2-1 with 43.2 seconds remaining in the second period. His shot struck Mike Condon and soared above the Montreal goalie, who lost sight of the puck and had it bounce off his back into the net. Brian Flynn drew the Canadiens even for the second time when he scored Montreal's sixth shorthanded goal at 2:30 of the third period. Oshie scored the game-winner when he tipped defenseman Karl Azner's shot past Condon for his eighth goal. Tom Wilson scored at 2:26 of the first period for the Capitals, who won five straight from Oct. 15-23. Lars Eller scored to make it 1-1 at 12:08 of the second. Holtby robbed Pacioretty with a left-pad save on a shot from the goal mouth in the first. He made back-to-back stops in the second against Pacioretty, who chased down a dump-in by Paul Byron to create a scoring chance and nearly score on the rebound.
Phoenix @ Detroit 1-5
The Red Wings played most of the game with 10 forwards after Drew Miller and Teemu Pulkkinen were injured in the first period and did not return. Pulkkinen was taken into the boards from behind by Martin Hanzal 6:19 into the game. Miller was woozy and had to be helped off the ice after Klas Dahlbeck's shoulder hit Smith in the head on a check later in the period. The Red Wings made it 3-0 with two goals in 18 seconds in the final minute of the first period. Abdelkader gave them a 1-0 lead with 7:30 left. Below the bottom of the left circle and with his back to the net, Abdelkader picked up a loose puck and backhanded it past Smith. It was Abdelkader's eighth goal, third in two games. Kronwall made it 2-0 with 42 seconds left when he scored from the slot after a give-and-go with Tomas Tatar. It was Kronwall's second goal. Nyquist got his ninth goal when his shot from center ice bounced past Smith with 24 seconds remaining. Three goals in a period was a season high for Detroit. Tippett replaced Smith with Lindback to start the second period. Martinook made it 3-1 with a goal 5:52 into the second period. He put in a shot from the left circle for his third goal. DeKeyser made it 4-1 1:26 later on a one-time slap shot from the right point. It was his second goal. Helm scored 4:28 into the third period when he intercepted an attempted clear by Lindback and put the puck into the empty net for his first goal. An apparent goal by Dahlbeck 1:22 into the game was overturned when Blashill challenged that Coyotes defenseman Connor Murphy was offside as Mikkel Boedker carried the puck into the Detroit zone six seconds before the goal.
