Detroit @ Toronto 2-1 OT
Jakub Kindl scored 2:17 into overtime to give the Red Wings a 2-1 win. Kindl split the Toronto defense and beat goaltender James Reimer with his second goal of the season. Henrik Zetterberg scored his 300th NHL goal in the first period. He snapped a shot toward the Toronto net from the Maple Leafs blue line that hit goaltender James Reimer. The puck dropped and rolled over the goal line for the Detroit captain's fourth goal of the season. Zetterberg joins Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Alex Delvecchio and Sergei Fedorov as the only players to have 300 goals and 500 assists for the Red Wings. The Maple Leafs did tie the game with 1:01 left in the third. Dion Phaneuf moved to the front of the net and stabbed the puck up and over Mrazek for his first goal of the season. Mrazek said Phaneuf's shot hit his blocker, popped into the air and then hit the shaft of his stick before dropping into the net.
"We had three guys on the ice. We should've changed going up the ice. That happened twice. We were caught out there tired and you stand there and they go by you. I thought [defenseman Jake] Gardiner did a real good job, he played the 2-on-1, but we shouldn't have gotten it to be a 2-on-1. I thought we played well. There will always be nights when you think you deserve a better fate, but that's life. You've just got to find a way to score some goals." Former Whitley Warrior Mike Babcock said.

Columbus @ Anaheim 2-4
The Ducks took a 1-0 lead when Columbus goaltender Curtis McElhinney denied Perry on the rush but Fowler knocked in the rebound at 3:28 in the first period.
Anaheim made it 2-0 at 6:43 of the second period when Patrick Maroon found a loose puck at his feet during a power play and beat McElhinney with a snap shot for his first goal of the season. Scott 'more cow bell' Hartnell countered at 9:15, getting a stick on Brandon Dubinsky's shot and deflecting it past Frederik Andersen to cut the deficit to 2-1. Josh Manson scored his first NHL goal on a wrist shot at 8:46 of the third period to give Anaheim a 3-1 lead. Hartnell scored again with a minute left in the third period to make it a one-goal game, but Anaheim defenseman Clayton Stoner scored into an empty net 44 seconds later.
