Los Angeles @ Philadelphia 3-2 SO
Milan Lucic's goal in the final minute of the third period tied it 2-2, and then center Anze Kopitar scored the only goal in the shootout for the Kings, who won their third straight game. The Flyers took a 2-1 lead at 11:11 of the third period on Giroux's goal off a give-and-go with Voracek, but the Kings kept pressing.

They had 14 shots on goal in the third period, and with Quick pulled for an extra attacker, Los Angeles tied it. Jeff Carter lost a faceoff in the Flyers zone, but the Kings recovered the puck. Kopitar got it back to defenseman Jake Muzzin at the point, and Muzzin's wrist shot hit off Kings forward Tyler Toffoli in front, bounced off the post and rolled through the crease to Lucic, who tapped it in with 55.7 seconds remaining. After Lucic tied the game, Kopitar went second for the Kings in the shootout and beat Mason with a high glove-side wrist shot.
The Flyers thought they took the lead at 10:32 of the second period when Brayden Schenn got to the front of the net and knocked in the rebound of a Voracek backhand attempt. But video review determined that Schenn used a distinct kicking motion to knock in the puck. McBain's goal at 15:06 went off the stick of Luke Schenn and past Mason. Gostisbehere opened the scoring at 3:41. Giroux one-touched a Voracek pass to Gostisbehere above the circles, and the rookie defenseman one-timed a slap shot past Quick.

New Jersey @ Calgary 2-3
David Jones' 100th NHL goal proved to be the game-winner in the Calgary Flames' 3-2 victory against the New Jersey Devils. Jones' milestone goal, his team-leading seventh of the season, came at 6:09 of the second period and gave the Flames a 3-1 lead. Stajan forced a turnover behind the Devils' net by Adam Henrique that allowed Joe Colborne to center the puck to Jones, who beat Schneider to the glove side. Jones' goal came between two by New Jersey in a span of 4:05. Farnham scored his second in as many games at 4:01 to cut Calgary's lead to 2-1. Tootoo made it a one-goal game again at 8:06 with a power-play goal, taking a pass from Stempniak in the slot and beating Karri Ramo to the blocker side. It was his second goal of the season. Schneider kept the Devils within one in the third period, first stopping Brodie on a breakaway at 8:10, then denying Johnny Gaudreau's shot from the slot a shift later.

Ramo made five saves in the third period and finished with 18. Brodie opened the scoring near the midway mark of the first period. He took a pass from Gaudreau, stepped around Stempniak and beat Schneider with a short-side shot from the lower left circle to put Calgary up 1-0 at 10:04. It was his second goal of the season. Gaudreau's assist snapped a personal four-game point drought. A mistake by Schneider helped put the Flames up by two at 13:33. The Devils goaltender left his crease to knock down a dump-in, but the puck skipped over his stick to Colborne, who centered a pass that Stajan eventually slid over the goal line for his first of the season.

Washington @ Detroit 2-1 OT
Evgeny Kuznetsov's goal 45 seconds into overtime gave the Washington Capitals a 2-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. Kuznetsov cut in off the right wing on a rush and beat Detroit goalie Petr Mrazek with a forehand shot for his sixth goal. Kuznetsov also scored the overtime winner in Washington's 2-1 victory against the Florida Panthers on Oct. 31. Mrazek stopped John Carlson from in front with 3:18 left in regulation, and Nate Schmidt hit the goal post with 6:16 remaining. Mrazek took a shot by Carlson from the left circle off his shoulder with 6:34 left in regulation. He went down and play was stopped, but Mrazek remained in the game. Larkin gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead 2:48 into the game with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle off the rush. It was the 19-year-old rookie's sixth goal. Williams scored a power-play goal with 9:06 left in the first period to tie it 1-1. He tipped Matt Niskanen's slap pass through Mrazek's pads for his fourth goal.

Alex Ovechkin has not scored in four games since tying Sergei Fedorov for most NHL goals by a Russian-born player (483) on Nov. 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He had six shots on goal in 21:59 of ice time, when he played with Nicklas Backstrom for the first time this season.
Evgeny Kuznetsov: "Just go hard to the net. … That's all I'm trying to do, go to the net,"
Barry Trotz: "[Kuznetsov] in overtime has been outstanding. … You give him some time and space and he's pretty good. He has that deceptive skating style. It doesn't look like he's moving his feet, but he's going faster all the time."
Nate Schmidt: "A little Russian magic. He's a special guy. I'm glad he's on our team, especially in 3-on-3 overtime."
