Carolina @ Philadelphia 2-3 OT
Rookie defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere scored a power-play goal 24 seconds into overtime to give the Flyers a 3-2 win. Brayden Schenn scored on a power play at 10:20 of the second period to end Philadelphia's goal drought at 162:54; the Flyers had been shut out in back-to-back games and in three out of six. Giroux sent a cross-ice pass to Jakub Voracek in the right faceoff circle, and Voracek set up Schenn for a tap-in from the top of the crease. Giroux scored a shorthanded goal 4:48 later to put the Flyers ahead 2-0, knocking in the rebound of a Sean Couturier shot on a 2-on-1 for his seventh goal. Rask scored his sixth goal at 7:58 of the third period to pull the Hurricanes within 2-1, and Pesce tied it when he banged home a rebound of Ron Hainsey's point shot with 3:45 remaining for his second of the season. Couturier drew a penalty against Rask for holding 11 seconds into overtime to set up Gostisbehere's game-winner. After Giroux won a draw in the right faceoff circle, Gostisbehere raced to the blue line to keep the puck in the zone. After he and Voracek passed the puck back and forth, Gostisbehere moved it to the bottom of the left circle to Giroux, who returned it to Gostisbehere for a one-timer from between the hash marks that beat Rask to the glove side.

Edmonton @ Washington 0-1
Dmitry Orlov scored with 6:32 remaining in the third period. Orlov scored his second goal of the season, in back-to-back games. Tom Wilson sent the puck across the left circle and Orlov scored with a slap shot from the hash mark. He previously had not scored since March 2, 2014. Andre Burakovsky was a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game.
"This game was going to be hard on us, and we needed to be ready for this team. They're good offensively, so we needed to be ready and [Holtby] played unreal. I think it's his win." Orlov said.

Boston @ Toronto 4-3 SO
David Krejci scored the shootout winner, and Brad Marchand had two goals to help the Bruins defeat the Maple Leafs 4-3. Marchand scored a shorthanded goal 4:58 into the game to give Boston a 1-0 lead. Toronto goalie James Reimer stopped a shot by Patrice Bergeron, but the rebound flew high into the air, allowing Marchand to swat it baseball-style into the net. The play was reviewed and it was ruled Marchand's stick was below the crossbar. Boston made it 2-0 at 12:39 when left-shooting Zac Rinaldo broke into the Toronto zone on the right wing and snapped a shot past Reimer on the short side for his first goal of the season. Joffrey Lupul made it 2-1 when he scored his eighth goal of the season at 11:54. With the Bruins about to be assessed a penalty, the Maple Leafs maintained possession of the puck with Reimer on the bench for an extra skater. Lupul got the puck, carried it to the high slot and snapped a shot through a crowd past Boston goalie Tuukka Rask. The Maple Leafs tied the score 2-2 on Leo Komarov's seventh goal of the season 12:56 into the second period. Komarov scooped a rebound in tight and slammed it past Rask. Marchand gave the Bruins a 3-2 lead at 14:40 with his second of the game. The goal originally was credited to Landon Ferraro, who the Bruins claimed off waivers from the Detroit Red Wings this weekend, but Ferraro said he did not push Marchand's shot into the net between Reimer and the post. Tyler Bozak tied it 3-3 1:29 later when he popped a rebound past Rask for his fourth of the season. The Bruins had a chance to take the lead with 4:33 remaining in the third when a puck bounced over Reimer and was headed into the goal, but Morgan Rielly dived and swatted it away.

Los Angeles @ Florida 3-1

Al Montoya was injured when he collided with Nick Shore after stopping Dustin Brown's wrist shot on a 2-on-1. Shore’s shoulder appeared to hit Montoya's head when he dove headfirst to try to poke home the rebound. The puck went into the net on the play, but the goal was disallowed after it was ruled Shore interfered with Montoya before the puck crossed the goal line. Los Angeles challenged the ruling, but it was upheld after video review. Montoya left at 8:38 of the first period with Los Angeles leading 1-0. He made saves on seven of eight shots. Alec Martinez scored at 17:16 of the second period after Kyle Clifford's slap shot from the top of the right circle hit teammate Jordan Nolan. The puck slid across to Martinez, who backhanded it past Luongo. Los Angeles almost added to their lead 30 seconds later, but Tanner Pearson hit the post on a breakaway. Gaborik made it 3-1 at 1:05 of the third period when he got a nice flip pass from Anze Kopitar in the neutral zone, skated around Brian Campbell and flipped a short-range shot over Luongo's glove. Quick's best save in the third period came with 9:07 left when he snagged Jonathan Huberdeau's wrist shot from the left circle. Aaron Ekblad hit the post with a little more than a minute remaining. Barkov tied it at 5:07 of the second with a power-play goal. After getting a pass from Jagr in the right circle, Barkov quickly spun and fired a wrist shot that found its way into the net after bouncing off Quick's blocker and pad. Toffoli opened the scoring with his 11th goal at 7:47 of the first period.
