Los Angeles @ Montreal 2-6 - P.K. Subban assisted on Sekac's power-play goal in the first period, on his even-strength goal in the third, and put Montreal ahead 3-0 with his eighth goal at 3:45 of the second. Desharnais, who scored the Canadiens' fourth goal in the third period, had an assist when Markov scored Montreal's second power-play goal at 1:01 of the second. Sekac put Montreal up 1-0 at 8:16 of the first period, four seconds after Doughty was called for interference. Tomas Plekanec won a faceoff in the left circle and drew the puck to Subban, who moved toward the middle to take a wrist shot that Sekac deflected past Jones. Markov made it 2-0 with his fourth goal, third on the power play, when his shot struck the blade of Brayden McNabb's stick on its way past Jones. Subban increased the lead when he stepped into Dale Weise's drop pass at the Kings blue line and drove a slap shot between Jones' legs from the right point. Muzzin scored his second goal at 3:35 of the third period. Doughty made it 4-2 with his third goal at 10:48, 61 seconds after Desharnais scored his third to restore Montreal's three-goal lead. Andrighetto scored his second goal at 13:59. Andrighetto is the first Montreal player with a point in each of his first three NHL games since Pierre Mondou in 1977-78, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Sekac scored his second of the game, his fifth goal, at 15:26 to increase the lead to 6-2. Price lunged to his right to make a blocker save on Dustin Brown's backhand on a deke in the goalmouth. Moments later, Price dived to his right to get his body in front of a shot by McNabb.
Florida @ Detroit 3-2 SO - Forwards Vincent Trocheck and Brandon Pirri scored in the shootout to give the Panthers a 3-2 win. Sheahan opened the scoring with a power-play goal 5:03 into the game. He put in a rebound for his seventh goal. Fleischmann tied it 1-1 at 7:09, when he scored on a one-timer from the slot off a pass from Dave Bolland. It was the third goal for Fleischmann, who was drafted by the Red Wings. An uncharacteristic turnover by Detroit forward Pavel Datsyuk in front of his net led to Huberdeau's goal, which gave Florida a 2-1 lead with 6:05 left in the first period. Huberdeau beat Howard with a turn-around forehand from the inside edge of the left circle. It was Huberdeau's third goal. Nyquist tied the game 2-2 on a power-play goal with 39 seconds remaining in the first period. His spinning backhand from the left circle deflected past Luongo off the leg of Florida defenseman Willie Mitchell for Nyquist's team-leading 14th goal and second in two games. Detroit killed a four-minute Florida power play in the third period after defenseman Jakub Kindl took interference and cross-checking penalties at 5:18.



Anaheim @ Edmonton 4-2 - Palmieri and Getzlaf scored 43 seconds apart to chase Oilers starting goaltender Viktor Fasth, who gave up three goals on 12 shots. The Sucks took the lead at 4:56 of the first period when Sami Vatanen snapped a shot past Fasth from the top of the faceoff circle. The Sucks outshot the Oilers 10-3 in the period. Palmieri scored seven seconds into the second period to extend the lead to 2-0. Ryan Kesler won the opening faceoff back to Vatanen, who spotted Palmieri splitting a pair of Oilers defensemen. Palmieri went in on the set play and beat Fasth on a breakaway. Getzlaf scored 43 seconds later to put the Sucks up 3-0, taking a drop pass from Rene Bourque and beating Fasth with a long wrist shot. Pitlick scored for the Oilers at 15:24 of the period, collecting a puck along the boards after a turnover by Sucks defenseman Cam Fowler, a result of a hit by Oilers center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins along the boards. Defensemen Mark Fayne and Oscar Klefbom, and forwards Hall, Leon Draisaitl and Nail Yakupov started the period for Edmonton. Petry cut the lead to 3-2 on the power play at 12:40 of the third period. The defenseman took a pass from Hall at the blue line and the shot hit the stick of Sucks wing Devante Smith-Pelly and deflected up over Andersen. Thompson scored into an empty net at 19:43.
