Florida @ NY Rangers 3-6 - Dan Boyle's goal, his sixth of the season, broke a 3-3 tie at 8:10. After picking up the puck along the left-wing boards in the Florida end, the defenseman sent a harmless-looking snap shot from the top of the left circle that deflected off the stick of defenseman Willie Mitchell in the slot and under a stunned Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo. Zuccarello then scored his first goal in 11 games at 15:58 when he controlled a rebound in the crease, deftly kicked the puck to his stick and roofed a shot into the left corner past Luongo for a 5-3 advantage. Nash scored two goals, his 30th and 31st, including an empty-net goal with 1:53 remaining in the game. After spotting the Rangers a 3-1 lead, the Panthers pulled even on goals by Bolland and Pirri. The teams combined for four goals on 18 shots in the second period. Bolland batted home a shot that deflected off the skate of Staal and the crossbar at the left post at 12:51. Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle lost his stick on the play and Chris Kreider and Kevin Hayes could not clear the puck. Pirri then scored a power play goal off a snap shot at 15:30 for a 3-3 tie. His seventh of the season was off a picturesque feed from Bolland from low in the left circle to the opposite circle.
The Rangers scored two goals in the opening 9:28 of the second to take a 3-1 lead. Hayes gave the Rangers their first lead 2:51 into the second with the first power-play goal of his NHL career. After taking a pass from Zuccarello in the slot, Hayes ripped a slap shot past Luongo. Staal then converted a cross-ice pass from Jesper Fast at 9:28 from the top of the right circle; the puck deflected off the stick of Sean Bergenheim past Luongo on the short side. Nash scored a shorthanded goal midway through the first to pull the Rangers into a 1-1 tie.
After Dan Girardi was whistled for tripping at 7:49, Nash forced a turnover in his own end and skated past rookie defenseman Aaron Ekblad at center ice before beating Luongo on a deke off a breakaway at 8:49. The Panthers, who have had slow starts in previous games, had the foot on the gas pedal to open the first period. Barkov gave the visitors a 1-0 lead off a wrist shot in the slot at 4:09 after taking a feed from behind the net from Brad Boyes. Barkov's goal gave him 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in his past 12 games.
Winnipeg @ Calgary 2-5 - Both teams started quickly, each scoring on its first shot of the game. Working an early cycle in the Flames end, Little spotted Wheeler in the slot, where he sent a shot along the ice and by the pad of Hiller to give the Jets to a 1-0 lead 1:09 into the game. Jones countered at 4:16 after taking a pass from captain Mark Giordano, barreling in on a partial breakaway and lifting a backhander that squeaked through Hutchinson to tie the game 1-1.
Calgary scored on its first shot of the second period too. With the puck loose in the neutral zone, Raymond won a footrace and got in alone on Hutchinson and beat the Jets goaltender with a shot by his blocker to put the Flames up 2-1 at 1:59. It came moments after Mark Scheifele cut his way through Calgary's defense but rolled a backhand wide after skating in alone on Hiller. Up 2-1 in the third and with a man-advantage, Diaz took a pass at the point from Joe Colborne and put a shot past Jets goalie Michael Hutchinson through a screen for his first goal of the season at 4:24. Colborne helped Bollig to his first too, ending a 42-game drought with a tap-in off a 2-on-1 to give Calgary a 4-1 lead at 7:23. Eighty seconds after Bollig's first of the season, Little corralled a rebound from Andrew Ladd's initial shot, pulled it to his backhand and lifted his 19th of the season over Hiller to pull the Jets within two. But Monahan made it 5-2 with 2:33 remaining in regulation with an empty-net goal.
