Rick Nash gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead at 11:49 of the second period on the power play with his 33rd goal. Nash's first backhand attempt was stopped by Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne, but he got the rebound and scored on the second attempt. Roman Josi tied the game 1-1 with 1:21 remaining in the second period on a slap shot from the slot that went past New York goaltender Cam Talbot. The rebound of a shot by Gabriel Bourque came to Josi, who had an open shooting lane. Weber gave the Predators a 2-1 lead with 39.1 seconds remaining in the second on a slap shot from the right faceoff circle. The puck trickled out to the faceoff circle and Weber shot it through traffic for his 12th goal. Ryan McDonagh tied the game 2-2 at 1:37 of the third period. McDonagh got the puck at the point, moved around Eric Nystrom and took a wrist shot that went past Rinne on the far side.
Los Angeles @ Tampa Bay 4-2 - Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead at 1:33 of the first period when Toffoli got control of a puck the Lightning misplayed in their zone, leaving him to score on a breakaway against goalie Ben Bishop. Williams' first goal came at 12:30 of the first when center Trevor Lewis made a cross-ice pass that found Williams' stick in front of the goal for the chip past Bishop and a 2-0 lead. The third goal came with 1.5 seconds remaining in the period when Doughty took a wrist shot from the left circle that bounced off the jersey of Ondrej Palat and over Bishop's stick. Williams scored at 7:46 of the third period on a counterattack when his wrist shot from the right circle went past Vasilevskiy on the glove side.
NY Islanders @ Boston 1-2 - Although coach Claude Julein moved Loui Eriksson, it seems every time Eriksson is with Chris Kelly and Carl Soderberg, something positive happens for the Bruins. The three were reunited in the third period Saturday and combined for the go-ahead goal at 12:26 of the third period. Kelly picked off a pass in the neutral zone, entered the Islanders zone and took a wrist shot toward the net that Soderberg deflected toward goaltender Chad Johnson. Eriksson won a battle for the rebound in front and slid a backhand past Johnson for a 2-1 lead. New York converted on their first power play to take a 1-0 lead at 9:06 of the first period. Bruins center Gregory Campbell fanned twice on his attempts to clear the puck from in front of the Boston net. Islanders center Frans Nielsen pounced on the puck and took a shot on net before Tavares buried the rebound from the weak side. The Bruins had killed 18 straight penalties. Boston answered on its first power play, with Bergeron scoring from the right hash mark at 13:12. His initial shot was stopped by Johnson before the rebound came to Bergeron, who converted his second opportunity to tie the game at 1-1.
Edmonton @ Toronto 1-5 - With Edmonton's Matt Fraser off for holding, Richard Panik scored a power-play goal from the slot on a shot that barely made it over the goal line at 8:56. The Maple Leafs took a 2-0 lead when Kessel's long shot through a crowd fooled Fasth at 10:34. It was Kessel's 21st goal of the season. The Oilers had an opportunity when Jordan Eberle broke in alone from center ice, but he hit the post at 12:56. Less than a minute later, Toronto defenseman Morgan Rielly scored after carrying the puck the length of the ice and beating Fasth with a snap shot at 13:26. His fifth goal of the season was unassisted. Toronto's Mike Santorelli made it 4-0 39 seconds into the third period when he broke in off the right boards and snapped a high shot to the far side of the net past Fasth for his 11th goal of the season. Santorelli had a chance to add to his total six minutes later when he broke in alone, but he was stopped by Fasth. Peter Holland broke in alone, deked to his backhand and lifted a high shot past Fasth for his ninth goal of the season to make it 5-0 at 9:58. It was Holland's first goal since Dec. 20. The Maple Leafs got their third breakaway of the third period, but Kessel was stopped by Fasth at 10:43.
New Jersey @ Montreal 2-6 - Andrei Markov and Lars Eller scored power-play goals 59 seconds apart to put Montreal ahead 2-1 after Zubrus was given a double minor for high-sticking Subban at 9:50 of the second. Subban was cut inside the mouth but did not need stitches. Subban got his third assist when Plekanec made it 3-1 with Montreal's third straight power-play goal with 10 seconds remaining in the second period. All three power-play goals were one-timers. Jacob Josefson scored 3:01 into the third period to pull New Jersey to within 3-2. Plekanec restored the Canadiens' two-goal lead with his second goal of the game at 12:04 of the third to give Montreal a 4-2 lead. Weise scored 30 seconds later and added another at 15:18. Mike Cammalleri scored his third goal in four games at 1:33 of the first for New Jersey. Jaromir Jagr assisted on Cammalleri's goal for his 1,068th NHL assist and 1,784th point. He scored his 716th goal Friday to move within one of tying Phil Esposito for fifth on the all-time list. Kinkaid protected the Devils' lead at 9:07 of the second when he stuck out his left pad and stretched out low with his glove to stop Canadiens right wing Brendan Gallagher, who shot after taking a pass from linemate Alex Galchenyuk on a 2-on-1.
Columbus @ Ottawa 4-1 - Foligno muscled his way past Cody Ceci and Mark Stone to break in and put a backhand through the pads of Senators goaltender Robin Lehner to make it 2-0 at 8:51 of the third period. McElhinney made his best save with the score 2-1 and 3:55 left in the third period when he got the paddle of his stick on a shot by Stone off a scramble. The Blue Jackets took a 1-0 lead 4:13 into the third period on a goal by Cam Atkinson, who was shuffled off the top line with Scott Hartnell and Ryan Johansen in the second period but was reunited with them for the third. Colorado @ Minnesota 0-1 - Brodin's sweeping save late in regulation preserved a 1-0 victory for the Wild. With Colorado on the power play and under five minutes to play, forward Matt Duchene came free in the slot. He rifled a shot that slipped through Dubnyk's five-hole and crept toward the goal line. But Brodin swooped in and fired the puck back out between Dubnyk's legs, keeping the Wild ahead by a goal. Charlie Coyle scored for Minnesota, who have won five in a row and moved into a tie for ninth place in the Western Conference standings, one point ahead of Colorado. The Avalanche have been shut out eight times this season and haven't scored in three games against the Wild. Dubnyk wasn't tested much until the final six minutes of regulation when the Avalanche got a power play with 5:51 remaining. Colorado, which had 12 shots on goal prior to the man-advantage, forced Dubnyk to make five saves in two minutes.
Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov made several fantastic saves to keep the game scoreless until 11:51, when Coyle tipped a shot from the point by Marco Scandella. Nino Niederreiter was also credited with an assist.
Detroit @ Phoenix 3-1 - With starting goalie Jimmy Howard on his way back from a groin injury this coming week and veteran backup Jonas Gustavsson also healthy again, there may not be room for Petr Mrazek to stick with the Red Wings. Mrazek made 22 saves and came within 1:54 of his second straight shutout at a sold-out Gila River Arena. Mrazek stretched his personal scoreless streak to 132 minutes, 42 seconds before Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored with 1:54 left in regulation. He made his biggest save of the night with 8:22 to play and the Red Wings clinging to a 1-0 lead when he stopped Martin Erat's penalty shot with his blocker. Erat was awarded the penalty shot after being hauled down by Datsyuk on a shorthanded breakaway. Tatar made it 2-0 with 3:00 remaining when he finished off a 2-on-1 by converting a pass from Helm. After Ekman-Larsson got the Coyotes back within a goal with his 16th of the season, a career high and tops among NHL defensemen, Helm put the game away by hitting the empty net with 1:16 left for his 11th of the season. But Detroit's power play, clicking at 25.8 percent coming into the game, needed all of 23 seconds after Andrew Campbell was sent off for roughing at 7:48 of the second period to put the Red Wings ahead to stay. Datsyuk intercepted a clearing attempt by penalty-killer Antoine Vermette and found Sheahan alone at the top of the right circle. Sheahan one-timed a shot over Smith's glove at 8:11 for his ninth goal. Datsyuk has an assist in four straight games and 24 for the season.
