NHL Results - Sun, Feb 01, 2015

Phoenix @ Montreal 3-2 - After a rough start, the Coyotes settled down and eventually got the right bounces to claim their first win at Bell Centre since 1996. Louis Domingue, a native of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, was four years old when Phoenix last won in Montreal, 5-4 in overtime on Oct. 28, 1996.
He made his NHL debut Saturday when he relieved Mike Smith and allowed two goals on 11 shots in the final 17:43 of a 7-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. Alex Galchenyuk scored two goals 3:40 apart on the second and fourth shots Domingue faced to give Montreal a 2-0 lead at 4:55 of the first period. Ekman-Larsson drew Phoenix even at 2-2 with an unassisted goal 32 seconds into the third period. He snuck a shot inside the left post past Tokarski from a sharp angle for his 14th goal, which leads all NHL defensemen. Korpikoski gave the Coyotes the lead at 3:17 of the third when his shot from the left edge of the crease struck Montreal defenseman Alexei Emelin and caromed past Tokarski for his sixth goal, his second power-play goal of the game. The comeback began when Korpikoski deflected Martin Erat's shot down and between Tokarski's pads. A video review confirmed the on-ice ruling that Korpikoski's stick made contact with the puck below the level of the crossbar.
The Coyotes looked like they might be in for another long afternoon Sunday when Galchenyuk made it 1-0 at 1:15 of the first with a wrist shot past Domingue into the top right corner from the right faceoff circle. The Canadiens increased their lead to 2-0 at 4:55 when Galchenyuk redirected David Desharnais' pass from behind the net past Domingue for his 15th goal.

Minnesota @ Vancouver 4-2 - Parise opened the scoring 7:26 into the second period, throwing the puck across the crease to a streaking Vanek from below the left faceoff circle. The puck hit defenseman Canucks defenseman Luca Sbisa who slid to block the pass and went under Miller. It was the seventh goal in the past seven games for Parise. Spurgeon doubled the lead on a Wild power play two minutes later with a point shot through traffic past Miller's glove. Minnesota got a break when Alexander Edler's goal 3:05 into the third period was waved off after the referee's huddled near the penalty boxes. Dubnyk made contact with Radim Vrbata as the goalie tried to move to his right to get into position for Edler's one-timer from the left point. It was initially called a goal, but was reversed. Vanek beat Miller with a slap shot over the blocker from the right faceoff circle on a 2-on-1 four minutes later to make it 3-0. Ronalds Kenins scored his first NHL goal on a soft shot off the rush with 7:40 left to end Dubnyk's shutout, and Daniel Sedin made it a one-goal game 61 seconds later. But after coach Mike Yeo called a timeout to calm things down, Dubnyk denied Linden Vey from the slot and Wild forward Jason Zucker ended the comeback bid scoring an empty-net goal with 53 seconds left.
