Carolina @ Boston 1-2 - In an effort to shake up his team, coach Claude Julien changed his defense pairs and inserted Matt Bartkowski for Zach Trotman. Bartkowski, who had been a healthy scratch for seven games, played with Torey Krug. Dougie Hamilton skated with Joe Morrow and Dennis Seidenberg formed a pair with Adam McQuaid. Seidenberg and McQuaid had the assignment against Carolina center Eric Staal's line. Carolina scored first 7:05 into the first period. At the end of a lengthy shift in the Boston zone, Tlusty one-timed a shot from the top of the right circle past Rask for a 1-0 lead. The Hurricanes had a golden opportunity to increase their lead when Bruins forward Reilly Smith was called for goaltender interference and 17 seconds later McQuaid went to the box for hooking, but the Bruins killed all 1:47 of the 5-on-3. They limited the Hurricanes to one shot on net during the two-man advantage and that set the stage for a comeback. Seth Griffith tied the game with a little help from some struggles with the puck by Carolina defenseman Andrej Sekera, who missed the puck in the neutral zone and after going back to retrieve it got nothing on a cross-ice pass to partner Justin Faulk. Griffith and Faulk hacked at the puck at the same time, and it went past Ward and Sekera at 14:24 to tie the score. Bergeron put the Bruins ahead before the period ended. His one-timer from the right hash mark went through screens by Smith and defenseman Ron Hainsey before beating Ward at 19:10 to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead.
Anaheim @ Los Angeles 2-3 OT - Stoll’s first goal since April 9, and his 200th point as a King, came when he got his stick on Justin Williams’ pass and had the puck slide past Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen. They snapped a five-game power-play drought (0-for-18) on Anze Kopitar’s one-timer at 9:25 of the third to force overtime. Los Angeles sustained pressure for a long stretch and defenseman Drew Doughty set up Kopitar on the right side. Getzlaf was in the penalty box for goalie interference. Ryan Kesler gave Anaheim a 2-1 lead after two periods with his sixth goal of the season at 18:44 of the second. He snapped the puck past Kings goalie Jonathan Quick off Bryan Allen’s shot-pass and Sami Vatanen’s setup. Kings forward Tyler Toffoli tied the game 1-1 with his League-leading fourth shorthanded goal of the season. Getzlaf got caught pinching and Toffoli took the shot on a 2-on-1 with Stoll at 16:37 of the second. It was Toffoli’s team-leading eighth goal. He is the fastest Kings player to score four shorthanded goals. Emerson Etem chipped in his own rebound off Quick at 8:38 of the first period to give Anaheim a 1-0 lead. Getzlaf worked the draw to Patrick Maroon, who set up Etem in the slot. Etem has been playing with Getzlaf on the top line with Perry out. The Kings changed their top line, with Jeff Carter at right wing along with Kopitar and Marian Gaborik. But Carter and Kopitar had no shots through 47 minutes. Los Angeles defenseman Robyn Regehr returned from a lower-body injury as the Kings continue to carry no spare defensemen because of a finger injury to Alec Martinez and the suspension of Slava Voynov.
Toronto @ Buffalo 2-6 - Zemgus Girgensons scored a shorthanded goal with 1:27 left in the first period to make it 2-0 and a breakaway goal at 4:42 of the third period to complete the scoring. On his first goal, Girgensons was set up by Brian Flynn, who beat Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer to a loose puck in the Toronto zone. Flynn fed Girgensons, who buried a shot with Reimer still out of position for his fifth goal of the season. Girgensons' second goal came when he got behind Maple Leafs defensemen Dion Phaneuf and Cody Franson, then deked and beat Reimer with a backhander. The Sabres led 3-0 on goals by Ennis, Girgensons, and Drew Stafford before Toronto's David Clarkson scored with 1:19 left in the second period. Clarkson tipped Cody Franson's shot past Sabres goalie Michal Neuvirth. Franson extended his point-scoring streak to seven games with the assist. Moulson scored his second of the season 16 seconds later to make it 4-1, finishing off a pass from Ennis on a 2-on-1. Toronto got that goal back 44 seconds later when Phil Kessel scored his 11th of the season with a wrist shot from the right circle that beat Neuvirth through the five-hole. Buffalo's top line of Ennis, Moulson and Girgensons had four of Buffalo's six goals. Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers made it 5-2 at 1:10 of the third period with his first goal of the season. Myers swept the puck over the line after a shot by Moulson got through Reimer's pads.
Philadelphia @ Montreal 3-6 - Parenteau deflected Sergei Gonchar's wrist shot from the point for his second goal of the game at 1:02 of the third period. Gonchar, who was acquired Tuesday in a trade with the Dallas Stars, got his 800th career point in his second game with Montreal when he assisted on Dale Weise's goal at 13:18 to restore the Canadiens' two-goal lead at 5-3. Weise scored his second straight goal, his third of the season, with 2:59 left in the game. Matt Read drew Philadelphia within 4-3 at 5:38 of the third period with a power-play goal on a long goalmouth scramble that saw all four Canadiens skaters jammed in the crease along with Price. Max Pacioretty and Andrei Markov each had two assists to help Montreal take a 2-0 lead at 8:49 of the first after Parenteau and Desharnais scored 2:02 apart on the Canadiens' first two power-play opportunities. Subban increased the lead to 3-0 at 6:17 of the second with Montreal's third straight power-play goal. Voracek turned to his right and fed a pass back to Schenn to set up Philadelphia's first goal at 12:01. Schenn snapped a shot past Price from the inside edge of the right circle for his fifth goal. Schenn got his second straight goal, his sixth of the season, at 18:46 when he buried a rebound of Giroux's one-timer on a pass from Voracek. Parenteau restored the Canadiens' two-goal lead at 4-2 after a video review confirmed that his stick had made contact with the puck below the level of the crossbar. Montreal battled hard to locate the puck near the crease and freeze it, without success, while attempting to kill Pacioretty's hooking penalty at 4:33.
Referee Dennis LaRue was stationed at the right side of the back of the net and had a clear view of the puck free under Philadelphia defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo at the side of the goal as four Canadiens packed the right side of the crease. The puck finally came free out front to Read, who moved across to the left and shot over a sprawled Price to draw the Flyers to within 4-3 at 5:38.

NY Islanders @ Tampa Bay 2-5 - Cedric Paquette scored the go-ahead goal with 4:31 remaining in the first period to help lead the Lightning to a 5-2 win. The goal came when forward Vladislav Namestnikov used some slick skating to create a shot opportunity through the defense. Paquette controlled the rebound and sent a wrist shot past Islanders goalie Chad Johnson to give the Lightning a 3-2 lead. The puck deflected off the skate of Islanders forward Cory Conacher. The Islanders opened the scoring 7:41 into the first period when Brock Nelson had a clear path to the goal and sent a wrist shot top-shelf over Lightning goalie Ben Bishop (25 saves). Ryan Callahan tied the game exactly one minute later when he redirected a slap shot by defenseman Jason Garrison past Johnson. Garrison had two assists for Tampa Bay. The Islanders and Lightning traded goals again when Josh Bailey scored his third of the season to give New York a 2-1 lead at 11:22. Valtteri Filppula would tie the game at 13:46 with a power-play goal, his fourth of the season.
Colorado @ New Jersey 3-2 - Matt Duchene scored his sixth of the season with 2:53 remaining to snap a 2-2 tie. Colorado had to survive a late New Jersey power play after defenseman Jan Hejda was whistled for slashing with 2:34 remaining. The Devils pulled goalie Cory Schneider with 50 seconds remaining to make it a 6-on-4 advantage but could not set up for a good opportunity for the equalizer. Johnson pulled the Avalanche into a 2-2 tie with 7:30 remaining in the third when he skated hard into the Devils end and took a wide-angle shot from low in the right circle that somehow got between Schneider's left pad and the post. Gelinas scored his second goal of the season from a tough angle along the left-wing boards at 8:21 of the third to give the Devils a 2-1 lead. The Devils took a 1-0 lead when Havlat scored his first goal in six games at 2:04 of the first period, firing home a shot from the slot off a big rebound. Michael Ryder took the initial shot from the right circle and Varlamov kicked the rebound directly to Havlat between the circles. The Avalanche pulled even when Mitchell scored his third of the season at 8:11. Gabriel Landeskog made the play happen when he drew both Devils defensemen to him low in the right circle before feeding Mitchell.
Winnipeg @ Nashville 1-2 - Craig Smith scored with 2:02 remaining in regulation to give the Nashville Predators a 2-1 victory. Predators forward Calle Jarnkrok fired a shot that went off a Jets player and landed right on Smith's stick in the left circle. Smith quickly fired a shot that beat Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. The assist was Jarnkrok's first point of the season. Winnipeg continued their strong defensive play in the first period, not allowing Nashville a shot on goal for more than eight minutes and holding the Predators scoreless despite two power-play opportunities. Nashville also played a strong period defensively, keeping most of Winnipeg's chances on the outside. Wheeler put the Jets up 1-0 by scoring a shorthanded goal at 6:57 of the second period. After Predators forward Matt Cullen turned the puck over in the neutral zone, Wheeler raced in and fired a shot over Rinne's glove for his eighth goal of the season and third in two games. Wheeler leads Winnipeg in goals and points (13). Nashville center Mike Ribeiro appeared to tie the game at 15:37 of the second period, but the goal was disallowed because the puck was played with a high stick. However, Neal scored one goal that counted eight seconds later, one-timing a pass from Ribeiro past Pavelec. Winnipeg had several opportunities in the third period to take the lead, but couldn't beat Rinne before Smith's goal gave Nashville its second win of the season against Winnipeg.
Ottawa @ Calgary 2-4 - Josh Jooris' power-play goal 5:37 into the third stood as the winner. Calgary's third-period surge came with the work from the special-teams units. Tied 1-1 after 40 minutes, a tripping penalty to Lance Bouma 17 seconds into the third period actually sparked the Flames. Exiting the penalty box, Bouma stripped the puck at Calgary's blue line and burst down on a partial breakaway. He couldn't keep the step and curled before spotting Markus Granlund in the slot. Granlund deked goaltender Craig Anderson and lifted a backhander into the net for his third of the season to put Calgary up 2-1 at 2:29. Calgary continued with the momentum and, with Alex Chiasson in the box for hooking, extended their lead. When Anderson couldn't retrieve Mark Giordano's shot around the boards, Curtis Glencross did and quickly sent a pass through the slot that Jooris converted for his fourth of the season to put Calgary up 3-1. Bobby Ryan's wraparound at 7:41 pulled Ottawa back within one. Taking a pass from Milan Michalek behind the net, Ryan quickly darted out from below the goal line and stuffed the puck past Ramo's right pad to cut the lead to 3-2. Calgary capitalized on another puckhandling gaffe by Anderson to restore the lead. On a dump-in, Anderson played the puck off Granlund and right to Bouma in the slot, where he sailed a backhand into the net at 12:57 for a 4-2 lead. Ottawa opened the scoring in the first. Off the rush, Clarke MacArthur sped down the wing and gained the Flames' zone before firing a shot that appeared to glance off the stick of Calgary defenseman Deryk Engelland and went over Ramo's shoulder on the short side to put Ottawa up 1-0 at 12:17. The first period cost the Flames more than the opening goal. Giordano left the game near the midway mark of the first period after getting clipped near the left eye by the stick of Chris Neil on the follow-through of a dump into Calgary's end. A shift prior, Kris Russell left the bench for an undisclosed reason, leaving Calgary with four defensemen. Both players returned for the second period. Sprung on a breakaway by a stretch pass off the stick of Sven Baertschi, Byron broke in alone and beat Anderson over the glove for his fourth of the season to tie the game 1-1 at 8:12 of the second period. He had gone 16 straight games without a goal.
