NHL - Stars - Prospect Update



Here’s an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing in Europe, juniors and college this season.
Europe

*RW Denis Gurianov (first round/2015) scored his second goal of the season Sunday as Lada Togliatti defeated Traktor, 4-2, in the KHL. Gurianov scored from close range off the rush to give Lada a 1-0 lead in the game. Gurianov has three points (two goals, one assist) in 17 KHL games.
* D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) registered four assists in three games for HV 71 in the Swedish Hockey League over the past week. Hansson had three assists in a 6-2 win over Malmo on Friday. Hansson has eleven points (two goals, nine assists) in 13 games, ranking second among SHL defensemen in scoring. He ranks eighth among all players in ice time at 22:29 per game.
*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) had no points in three games for Oskarshamn in Sweden’s second highest league. Nyberg has four points (one goal, three assists) in 17 games.
*LW Roope Hintz (second round/2015) remains out with a back injury.
*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) registered one assist in two games with Assat in Finland’s top league, giving him four assists in 16 games. Vance ranks second in the league in average ice time at 25:10 per game.
*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) had no points in three games with Ilves in Finland’s top league. Makela has no points in five games with Ilves this season.
*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) played one game for HIFK in Finnish juniors, registering no points. He has five points (one goal, four assists) in eight games this season.
*G Markus Ruusu (sixth round/2015) played one game for JYP in Finnish juniors, getting pulled early in the second period after giving up six goals on 13 shots. Ruusu’s team is the worst in Finland’s top junior league so far this season, winning just two of 17 games. Ruusu has been the winning goaltender in both those games.
*G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) did not play any games last week.

WHL

*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) ran his points streak to seven games, picking up three assists in two games for Edmonton over the past week. Pollock has 13 points (three goals, ten assists) in 12 games and leads the Oil Kings in scoring.

OHL

*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) did not register any points in two games for Flint over the past week. Peters has three points (one goal, two assists) in 11 games.
*D Chris Martenet (fourth round/2015) had no points in three games for London over the past week. Martenet has four assists in 12 games and is tied for fifth in the OHL with a plus-12 rating.
*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) remains out with a knee injury.
*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) was a scratch in both of Niagara’s games this past week.
G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) was hit in the head with a puck in practice last week and was held out of games with Niagara as a precaution.

NCAA

*D Joseph Cecconi (fifth round/2015) registered his first point in college hockey, tallying an assist in the University of Michigan’s 5-2 win over RPI this weekend. Cecconi, a freshman, has one assist in four games this season.
*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) registered an assist in RPI’s 5-2 loss to Michigan over the weekend, giving him three points in five games this season.
